What Is Planable? Approval-First Social Media Planning

By Joris van Huët · Planable's own site

The short answer: you are right to expect sign-off on the entry plan, but the approval type that stops a post from going out until someone says yes starts on Pro, at $59 per workspace a month on monthly billing (pricing file, checked on 24 October 2026). Planable is a collaboration-first planner for teams whose posts pass a client, a manager or legal before they publish, with unlimited users on every plan.

What decides the bill:

  1. Workspaces, not people. Planable recommends one workspace per client or brand. For example, five clients on Pro with the Analytics add-on cost 5 x ($59 + $14) = $365 a month on monthly billing, at the rates in the pricing file.
  2. The 50 free posts are a total. They do not reset, X publishing is off during the trial and add-ons need a paid plan, per the same file. Spend them on one real client month.
  3. The approval you need. Optional approval lets anyone publish, Required blocks scheduling until an approver signs off, and Multi-level, which chains approvers, is Enterprise only, per the approvals article.

What Planable does

The homepage sums it up as "plan social like a team": posts sit in feed, calendar, grid or list views, the feed laid out like the native platforms, with comments, suggested edits and annotations beside them. It schedules to the nine networks the pricing file lists, Threads and Google Business Profile among them, and universal content pages take newsletters, blog posts and ads through the same review.

Analytics, a social inbox and social listening are add-ons. Every plan includes an MCP connector, through which an AI assistant can browse workspaces, draft and schedule posts, follow approval status and comments, and pull analytics where that add-on is on, per the MCP guide. Pro adds a public API.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits agencies whose clients approve every post, teams with a legal reviewer, and groups whose brands must not see each other's drafts. It suits less well a solo publisher who wants analytics included, or a high-volume account: Basic allows 60 posts per workspace a month. Published posts are kept for 13 months on Basic and Pro and then deleted, per the pricing file, so export what you report on yearly.

What it costs

USD, excluding taxes. Yearly prices are from the pricing page, monthly ones from the pricing file, both checked on 24 October 2026.

Add-ons are priced per workspace, each with a 30-day trial: Analytics $14 a month, Social inbox $9 and Social listening $99.

How it compares

Buffer. Buffer's approvals come with its Team plan at $12 per channel a month for the first ten on monthly billing (Buffer pricing). A client with four channels costs $48 there against $59 for a Pro workspace here; Buffer wins when approval is a simple draft queue, Planable when clients comment line by line.

Metricool. Metricool prices by brand and puts its approval system on Advanced, from $67 a month for 15 brands (Metricool pricing). It is the stronger choice when the monthly report, ads included, matters more than the review.

Loomly. Loomly's Starter plan is $49 a month billed yearly for 12 social accounts and 3 users, with approval workflows listed (Loomly pricing). Loomly counts accounts and users; Planable counts clients.

Pricing by workspace is designed so that every new client adds a line to the bill. The pricing file calls that predictability, and it is: you know a client's cost before you sign.

No. Public links let people view and comment without an account, but approval needs a login, per the client approval guide.

How long does an AI connection stay active?

A connection expires after 8 hours of inactivity and refreshes automatically, and consent lasts 180 days before you reconnect, per the MCP guide.
