What Is SocialPilot? Agency Scheduling and Client Approval

By Joris van Huët · SocialPilot's own site

The short answer: if you suspect the entry plan is too small for an agency, the plan file confirms it: client seats, client approval, white-label reports and CSV bulk scheduling all start on Premium, $100 a month on monthly billing for 25 social accounts and 6 users (pricing file, checked on 24 October 2026). SocialPilot is a social media platform aimed at agencies and multi-location brands, priced per plan rather than per seat.

What to check before the trial:

  1. The account count you will have in a year. For example, 30 client accounts on Premium cost $100 + 5 x $4 = $120 a month on monthly billing, at the add-on rate in the pricing file.
  2. Which clients will publish. A client given Publish Post access counts as a team member and takes one of the plan's user seats, per the client invite article. Clients who only view, comment and approve do not.
  3. What the client will be sent. Analytics and scheduled PDF reports start on Standard, white-label reports on Premium.

What SocialPilot does

The homepage groups it into publishing, collaboration, engagement, analytics and reviews: a calendar, AI Pilot for drafting, bulk scheduling of 500 or more posts at once, a social inbox, reports, and client management with invitation links so clients connect their own accounts without sharing passwords. Separate Reviews and Listings products now sit beside the social tools, and white label sells the platform under an agency's brand.

For AI agents, SocialPilot runs an MCP server that Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and Cursor connect to. It lists accounts and clients, creates posts or drafts, and reports what is queued, published, failed or missed, per the MCP article. The plan comparison lists the MCP on every plan, while API access is Enterprise only.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits agencies with 10 to 50 client accounts that want approval links clients can use without logging in, and the multi-location brands its Ultimate plan names. It suits less well a freelancer who needs analytics, which Essentials lacks, or a team needing an API without an Enterprise contract.

Extra accounts are $4 a month and extra users $5; in euros, Premium is €95 on monthly billing. The pricing page offers a 14-day trial with no card and lists no free plan.

How it compares

Buffer. Buffer's Team plan includes approvals and unlimited users at a per-channel price; its own worked example puts 25 channels at $180 a month on monthly billing (Buffer pricing), against $100 for 25 accounts on SocialPilot Premium. Buffer wins on a handful of channels; SocialPilot once the client list grows.

Hootsuite. Hootsuite's Standard plan is $99 per user a month billed annually for 10 accounts, and team review and approval of content is listed on Advanced at $399 (Hootsuite plans). Its pricing follows people; SocialPilot's follows accounts.

RecurPost. RecurPost's Agency plan is $79 a month on monthly billing for 20 accounts and 3 users, with client workspaces, approvals and white-label reports, and extra teammates at $20 each (RecurPost pricing). For three people it is the cheaper door; six cost $79 + 3 x $20 = $139 there, against SocialPilot's $100 with six seats included.

The trial is there to get your client accounts connected, because reconnecting 25 accounts elsewhere is the cost of leaving. Connect two or three clients first and watch one approval through.

FAQ

Can clients approve without a SocialPilot account?

Yes. Clients designated as approvers receive Approve On-the-Go links by email and can approve, send back or comment without signing in, per the approval workflow article.

Does SocialPilot have an API?

Only on Enterprise, per the pricing file. The MCP server is available on every plan.

What happens if a client never answers?

The post waits in Pending Review, unless the client's Auto-Approve toggle is on, in which case it publishes if not approved one hour before its slot, per the client invite article.
