What Is Decktopus? AI Decks, Carousels and Rehearsal
By Joris van Huët · Decktopus's own site
The short answer: Decktopus fits someone who presents more than they design: it writes and designs a whole deck from a topic at 5 credits a slide, and Pro's 750 monthly credits, about 150 slides, cost $9.99 a month billed yearly or $24.99 month to month (pricing page, credits article, checked on 26 October 2026). What sets it apart from template tools is the part after the slides: an AI coach called Loop for rehearsing, and tracking of who reads a shared deck.

Rule of thumb before you subscribe:
- Price the slides, not the plan. For example, a 20-slide deck costs 20 x 5 = 100 credits to generate, and every AI edit costs 5 more, per the credits article. Monthly credits do not carry over, so a quiet month's allowance is gone.
- Bring the deck you already have. Upload an existing presentation and Decktopus redesigns every slide while the content stays as it is, according to its homepage; or attach it as a source file for a new deck.
- Decide what a good result looks like. For a talk, it is Loop's readiness score and your timing; for a shared deck, Business's deck analytics: unique viewers, visits, average time and the slide where most viewers drop off, per the analytics article.
Studio and Loop
Decktopus calls itself one product with two modes. In Studio you type a topic or attach a file, pick a style (a saved brand kit, your brand imported from your website, or one the AI invents), review an outline, and get a generated deck you edit with plain-language prompts. The same flow makes carousels for LinkedIn and Instagram, downloaded as PDF, PPT or PNG, per the carousel guide.
Loop is the rehearsal side, run by four AI agents in sequence: a Profiler that gathers the situation, audience and goals, an Architect that writes the narrative and speaking notes, a Red Team that asks the hard questions, and a Stage that measures your delivery and returns a readiness score from 0 to 100, per the Loop guide.
Shared decks are live links that update when you edit. A remote MCP server lets Claude create presentations in a chat, asking your approval for each tool on first use (MCP guide).
Who it suits
The homepage names consultancies, agencies, coaches, advisors, educators and founders: people who pitch, propose and teach, often without a designer. A marketing lead preparing a conference talk or a client workshop fits the same shape.
It suits less well a company with a fixed corporate template that every deck must follow. Decktopus's pricing page says every deck is generated fresh from the prompt, which is the opposite of locking a layout.
Plans and what they cost
Checked on 26 October 2026 on the Decktopus pricing page, in USD:
| Pro (one person) | Business (per seat) | |
|---|---|---|
| Yearly | $9.99 a month, billed $119.88 | $19.99 a month, billed $239.88 |
| Every 3 months | $19.99 a month, billed $59.97 | $39.99 a month, billed $119.97 |
| Monthly | $24.99 | $44.99 |
| AI credits a month | 750 | 1,000 per seat |
| Adds | Loop, PDF, PPT and PNG export, version history | Team workspace, custom domain, deck analytics, priority support |
The first deck is free, but it cannot be exported and carries a watermark (free trial article). Top-up packs run from 40 credits for $4.99 to 36,000 for $999 and never expire, while the subscription's own credits reset each month, and Decktopus refunds no plan, per its refund policy. The monthly allowance is paid for whether or not a deck gets made.
Beside Beautiful.ai and Gamma
- Beautiful.ai goes the other way: a Team plan of brand kits, templates and shared slides that update in every deck. A team that reuses one approved deck belongs there; one-off pitches and talks suit Decktopus.
- Gamma lets unused plan credits roll over up to twice the plan size, per its credits article. For someone who makes decks in bursts, that rollover is the deciding difference, since Decktopus's monthly credits lapse.
