What Is EComposer? Shopify Pages, Sections and Upsells

By Joris van Huët · EComposer's own site

The short answer: count every theme section as a page before you choose an EComposer plan, because landing pages, product templates and sections share one publish limit: Standard's 15 slots at $25 a month on monthly billing fill with 10 landing pages, 2 product templates and 3 sections, the split the pricing page itself uses as its example (checked on 26 October 2026). EComposer is a drag-and-drop builder that makes Shopify landing, product, collection and blog pages, plus sections you drop into the theme you already run.

Three numbers set the plan:

  1. The year against the month. For example, Pro costs $49 a month on monthly billing or $39 billed yearly, so twelve months come to $588 or $468, a $120 gap, using the pricing page.
  2. The theme already installed. The pricing FAQ says sections built in EComposer cannot be inserted into an OS 1.0 theme. If custom sections are the reason to buy, check the theme version first.
  3. The figure that says a page earns its slot. Page Analytics, listed from Standard up, reports sessions, visitors, revenue and conversion rate per page, per the analytics article. The page trailing the store average is the first to unpublish when slots run out.

Pages, sections and the extras around them

The editor starts from the template library or a blank canvas, and the Section Builder makes blocks for spots the theme does not cover, as the homepage describes. AI tools run on credits: a text generation costs 7 and an image 40, per the AI credits article, and the monthly allowance resets unused.

Around the pages sit tools many stores buy as separate apps: sticky add to cart, back-in-stock alerts and volume discounts among the extensions, split tests that need Google Analytics 4 connected first (A/B testing article), and offers shown after checkout.

A good fit, and a poor one

It fits a Shopify merchant who keeps the current theme but wants campaign pages and a few custom sections, and an agency building client stores. It fits poorly on an OS 1.0 theme that needs sections, and for any page outside Shopify: the homepage says you need a Shopify store to start.

What it costs, checked on 26 October 2026

In USD, from the EComposer pricing page:

PlanMonthly billingBilled yearly, per monthLive pages or sectionsAI credits a month
Free$0$0150
Standard$25$1915200
Pro$49$3950800
Premium$129$103Unlimited2,000

Paid plans start with a 7-day trial and no card. Pro is the only tier with a fee on upsell revenue, 1% of what the upsell funnels earn, capped at $50 a month. Unlimited blog posts cost $39 a month extra below Premium, and charges arrive on your Shopify invoice, as the billing article explains.

Beside PageFly and GemPages

  • PageFly also counts pages: Builder is listed at $24 a month for 5 pages or sections, and A/B testing begins on Optimize at $39 for 20, per its pricing page. Under 20 pages with testing, PageFly is the smaller bill; past that, EComposer's 50 slots on Pro go further.
  • GemPages publishes without a page cap on every paid plan, from Build at $29 a month on monthly billing, per its pricing page. Once your count passes 15, that beats Standard; below it, EComposer's $19 yearly rate is cheaper.

Leaving later, and starting now

The pricing FAQ is plain about exits: uninstalling stops everything built in EComposer from working, with a 30-day backup. Every section built there rather than in the theme adds rebuild hours to any future move, which is what keeps a builder app installed long after the campaign it was bought for, so keep anything permanent in the theme's own sections.

How to use EComposer sets up a post-purchase offer on the free plan's single upsell rule.

FAQ

Does EComposer work with every Shopify theme?

Online Store 2.0 themes and older ones, per the pricing FAQ, except that its sections cannot be inserted into an OS 1.0 theme.

Do unused AI credits roll over?

Monthly credits reset each billing cycle. Credits bought in add-on packs stay until used, per the AI credits article.

What happens to my pages if I downgrade?

You keep the lower plan's limit, so moving from Pro to Standard means unpublishing until 15 remain, as the pricing FAQ describes.
