What Is GemPages? Shopify Pages, Funnels and an MCP Beta
By Joris van Huët · GemPages's own site
The short answer: if post-purchase upsells are the reason you are looking at GemPages, the decision sits at the Optimize plan: the free and Build plans stop at $100 of upsell revenue a month, and Optimize at $59 a month lifts that cap but adds a commission whose rate the pricing page does not print (checked on 26 October 2026). GemPages is a Shopify page builder for landing pages, store pages, theme sections and sales funnels, for merchants and marketers who want campaign pages without a developer.

What decides the tier:
- Publish slots, priced out. The free plan publishes one page; Build publishes without a cap at $29 a month. For example, three campaign pages kept live for four months cost 4 x $29 = $116 on Build, and on the free plan only one of them could be live, per the pricing page.
- The theme you keep. Build includes 20 theme sections that insert into your existing Shopify theme and Optimize 100. If the theme works and only lacks a few blocks, count those blocks before counting pages.
- Where the result is read. GemPages runs its A/B tests in GemX, a separate app (GemX article); without it, UTM tags and Shopify's reports are the measure.
What GemPages builds
The drag-and-drop editor builds home, product, collection, landing and blog post pages from 400+ templates and sections, per the homepage. Landing pages and blog posts publish at their own URL; home, product and collection pages also have to be set as default before shoppers see them, as the page types article explains.
On Optimize, a Headless Page is hosted apart from Shopify while Shopify keeps checkout and orders, per the headless page article.
The MCP beta
GemPages MCP connects Claude or ChatGPT to your store for three jobs: researching content from product data and reviews, turning a finished article into an HTML page, and turning HTML, an image or a URL into an editable GemPages page, per the MCP introduction. It is in beta with access rolling out from a waitlist, it is included on every plan, and the AI creates pages without publishing them, according to the MCP page.
Who it fits
Shopify brands that send paid traffic to advertorials, listicles and product pages, and teams that want AI drafts to land as editable pages rather than code. It fits less well when ordinary pages must sit on a separate domain, which only Optimize's Headless Page allows.
Prices, checked on 26 October 2026
In USD, monthly billing, from the GemPages pricing page:
| Plan | Price a month | Published pages | Theme sections | Post-purchase upsell revenue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | Not listed | Up to $100 a month |
| Build | $29 | Unlimited | 20 | Up to $100 a month |
| Optimize | $59 | Unlimited | 100 | Unlimited, with commission |
| Enterprise | $199 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited, no commission |
Every paid plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. New customers can no longer buy yearly plans, so each new subscription renews month by month at list price: easy to stop, and just as easy to leave running, which is the half of the arrangement that works for GemPages.
How it compares
- PageFly keeps A/B testing and heatmaps inside one app from its Optimize plan, listed at $39 a month for 20 pages, per its pricing page. If you want testing without a second app, that decides it.
- Shogun caps its $39 Build plan at 25 published pages and sells testing as a separate app from $39, per its pricing page. GemPages is cheaper per page; Shogun's testing app lists price and checkout tests on its top plan.
- Replo builds pages by chat and hosts them on a subdomain rather than in your theme, from $119 a month on monthly billing, per its pricing page. Where the page has to live decides it.

FAQ
Does GemPages have a free trial?
No time-limited trial. The free plan stays free, with one published page and no card, per the pricing page.
What happens to my pages if I uninstall?
Live pages can lose files and scripts and display wrongly. The uninstall article suggests downgrading to free instead, or exporting pages first.
Can a GemPages page use another domain?
Only a Headless Page on Optimize or above. Regular pages use the store's domain, per the advertorial article.
