What Is Kittl? AI Design for Product Brands and Merch

By Joris van Huët · Kittl's own site

The short answer: you are not misreading it: Kittl's Expert plan advertises 12,000 AI tokens a month, its token article splits that into 6,000 monthly tokens plus 200 a day, and the pricing page calls the daily tokens promotional and subject to change (tokens article, pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026). Kittl is a browser design platform with AI image and video models, templates, mockups and a chat-based Creative Agent on one canvas, for product brands, print-on-demand sellers and agencies.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Before the first paid month:

  1. Tokens per asset. Reframe, which changes an aspect ratio, costs 20 tokens (Reframe article). For example, Pro's 2,000 monthly tokens cover 2,000 / 20 = 100 reframes, while one 8-second Veo 3.1 clip with audio can take up to around 640 (tokens article).
  2. The brand you already have. Brand Studio imports colours, fonts, logo and graphics from your website or store; the brand article names Shopify, Etsy and WooCommerce.
  3. The licence, before the launch. The free plan card lists a commercial licence, but the pricing FAQ and the free plan article say free designs are for personal use only. Plan on the stricter reading, and on Pro or Expert for anything you sell.

What Kittl does

A vector canvas with text effects and a pen tool, surrounded by image and video models from OpenAI, Google, ByteDance, Recraft and others, a background remover and an upscaler (homepage); the mockup generator puts a design on apparel or packaging. Creative Agent takes a plain-words brief, asks what is missing and refines product photos, ads and logos in one conversation (Creative Agent article), and an MCP connector lets Claude or ChatGPT generate images and run workflows in your account.

Who it suits

Brands with physical products: a candle maker launching a scent, a shop dropping a T-shirt line, an agency making listing images. It suits less well a team whose output is reports or slide decks, or pre-launch work on the free plan, where AI images are shared publicly with the Kittl community.

Viewers are free; editors are paid seats that pool their tokens (Teams article). Plan tokens do not roll over and purchased ones never expire (tokens article). Pro and Expert carry a commercial licence for up to 500,000 copies, per the pricing FAQ.

The free plan pays Kittl in more than sign-ups: the AI rights article says free users' AI images become part of the Kittl Content library, so a brand testing launch ideas on the free tier is handing them over.

Against Midjourney, Playground and Canva

Midjourney is an image and video generator: Basic is $10 a month, but a company with more than $1,000,000 in yearly gross revenue must buy Pro at $60 or Mega at $120, the plans with private Stealth mode (Midjourney plans, checked on 26 October 2026). Choose it for the image alone, Kittl when the image must become a mockup or a listing set.

Playground is the cheaper door to a usable picture: its free plan carries a worldwide, royalty-free licence, and Pro costs $15 a month (Playground pricing). Kittl adds brand kits, mockups and team seats.

Canva's pricing page refused automated reading on 26 October 2026. Kittl's own Brand Studio page says Canva stores brand assets for you to apply while Kittl applies them for you; that is one vendor describing another, so test both free plans with your own brand.

FAQ

Can I sell designs I make in Kittl?

On Pro or Expert, yes, on products and in client work, but not as stock (AI rights article).

Do I keep those rights if I cancel?

Yes, while the account stays open, even on the free plan (post-subscription article).

Can Kittl work inside Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes, through the connector at mcp.kittl.com. The connector article adds it by hand, while the newer MCP page shows one-click buttons.
