What Is Notta? Multilingual Transcripts, Uploads and Minutes
By Joris van Huët · Notta's own site
The short answer: if your interviews, calls and recordings run in more than one language, Notta is built for that work: transcription in 58 languages, translation of transcripts and uploads of up to 5 hours a file on paid plans, with Pro at $8.17 a month billed annually, $97.99 a year, on the pricing page checked on 26 October 2026. The free plan's 120 monthly minutes come with a 3-minute cap per recording, so it shows you the interface, not a meeting.

Count minutes before you choose a plan:
- Meetings times length. Notta's own plan guide works it out as 20 meetings of 60 minutes, 1,200 minutes a month, which fits Pro's 1,800.
- Translation is billed as minutes too. Translating a 16-minute recording uses 32 minutes, the original transcription plus the translation, per the usage rules. Count it twice in step one.
- Uploads have their own quota. Each imported file uses one of Pro's 100 monthly uploads as well as its minutes, per the import article. Check both counters under Plan Usage on the home screen.
What Notta does
Notta transcribes online meetings through a bot that joins Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and Webex, a Chrome extension, screen recording and live recording on web and mobile, per the pricing page. It imports audio and video in formats from MP3 and WAV to MOV and WebM, per the import article. On top sit AI Notes with your own templates, translation into 40+ languages, and Notta Brain, which answers questions across recordings and builds slides and infographics.
Two things set it apart from most meeting tools. It sells hardware, the Notta Memo recorder, for conversations away from a screen. And it ships an MCP server and CLI so an assistant or a script can fetch transcripts, upload files for transcription and export.
Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits researchers, consultants, agencies and marketing teams that run interviews in several languages or transcribe recordings made elsewhere, and individuals who want a low annual price.
It suits less well a team that needs CRM or Zapier sync on Pro, because both sit on Business, or one with a long list of product names to teach it: Pro's custom vocabulary holds 50 English words, per the vocabulary article.
What it costs
Checked on 26 October 2026 on the pricing page, in USD:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Minutes a month | Per recording |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 120 | 3 minutes |
| Pro | $13.49 | $8.17 a month, $97.99 a year | 1,800 | 5 hours |
| Business, per seat | $27.99 | $16.67 a month, $199.99 a year | Unlimited | 5 hours |
| Enterprise, from 51 seats | Quoted | Quoted | Custom | 5 hours |
Minutes do not carry over. Live translation is free up to twice a month and bilingual transcription four times a month across the workspace, with paid add-ons beyond that. Charging translation as a second round of transcription is fair on compute, and it also means the language feature Notta leads with draws on the same minutes you bought for meetings.
How it compares
Fireflies.ai is built around a bot that records the team's calls and runs AI Skills on them, from $10 a seat a month on annual billing, per its pricing page. Choose it for a sales floor; choose Notta for interviews and files.
Otter.ai lists transcription in six languages and 300 free minutes a month, per its pricing page. For English-only meetings that free allowance goes further than Notta's 3-minute cap.
Plaud sells AI note-taking devices, such as the Plaud Note and NotePin, with an app behind them, per its homepage. If most conversations happen across a table, compare its devices with the Notta Memo rather than the apps.

FAQ
Can Notta handle two languages in one conversation?
Yes, with bilingual transcription and translation, which every plan can use four times a month across the workspace before an add-on is needed, per the plan guide.
Do unused minutes roll over?
No. The pricing page marks the quota "no carryover", and paid quotas reset monthly on the purchase date, per the usage rules.
Can I edit a translation?
No. Correct the original transcript and translate again, which uses minutes again, per the translation article.
