What Is SocialBee? Category-Based Social Scheduling
By Joris van Huët · SocialBee's own site
The short answer: if your feed runs on a library of posts that stay true for months rather than on daily news, SocialBee's category queue is the reason to choose it: Accelerate, at $49 a month on monthly billing, holds 50 content categories of up to 5,000 posts each across 10 profiles (pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026). It is an AI-assisted scheduler for small businesses and agencies that publishes by category and weekly slot, not by date.

What to check before the trial:
- The step between tiers. For example, Bootstrap to Accelerate is $49 - $29 = $20 a month on monthly billing, and that step buys CSV uploads, the post approval system and two years of analytics instead of three months, per the pricing page.
- The archive you already own. Old posts, a blog feed and product copy are the raw material; Bootstrap allows 10 content sources and 10 categories.
- The comparison you will report. Year-on-year is out of reach on Bootstrap's three months of analytics.
How SocialBee schedules
A content category is a folder of posts, such as promotional or educational. Categories go into a weekly schedule, and SocialBee fills each slot from its category, per the categories guide. A category can be evergreen, so posts go back in the queue after publishing, or share-once; single posts can expire after a set number of shares or on a date (evergreen article).
Copilot reads your website and proposes up to 5 categories and 10 draft posts for review (AI limits article). An inbox handles comments, mentions and DMs.
Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits a small team that wants a steady feed from a modest library without rebuilding the calendar monthly. It suits less well an account where almost nothing is reusable, or a care team that needs inbox routing, which the plan table does not list.

How it compares
Rival prices were checked on 24 October 2026.
Buffer. Buffer has a free plan for 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel (Buffer pricing); SocialBee has only the trial. For a few dated posts, Buffer is the cheaper start.
Hootsuite. Hootsuite sells seats at $99 per user a month billed annually for 10 accounts, with listening and a care inbox in the price (Hootsuite plans). Choose it when monitoring matters more than recycling.
Metricool. Metricool counts brands, from $25 a month on monthly billing for up to 5, and leans on analytics and ads reporting (Metricool pricing). It wins on reporting, SocialBee on reuse.
Getting started
A trial exists to get your posts into the categories. When it expires, posting stops and the content is locked until you pay, per SocialBee's paid plan article, so keep your source spreadsheet. How to use SocialBee builds the category queue step by step.
FAQ
Does SocialBee limit AI generation?

No. Make a separate post per profile, per the scheduler article.
Are the agency plans different software?
No. They are Pro with more profiles, workspaces and users, per the pricing FAQ.
