What Is StreamYard? Browser Studio for Live Shows
By Joris van Huët · StreamYard's own site
The short answer: if you stream for a company, budget for StreamYard's Business plan at $299 a month on monthly billing, because the pricing page reserves Essential, Core and Advanced for individual use and the Plan Usage Policy puts businesses and organisations on Business (StreamYard pricing, Plan Usage Policy, checked on 24 October 2026). StreamYard is a live streaming and recording studio in the browser, with guests joining from a link.

Before you sign up:
- Price the year, not the month. Business is $299 a month billed monthly or $249 billed yearly, with 2 seats (pricing). For example, streaming all year saves ($299 - $249) x 12 = $600 on yearly billing.
- List the destinations you already post to. Business multistreams to 10. LinkedIn allows one Profile or Page per stream, beside YouTube and the rest (LinkedIn events guide).
- Check the guest flow. The Greenroom, where a host calls a guest privately before they go on, comes with Teams and Business (Greenroom guide).
- Decide where results are read. Viewers watch on LinkedIn or YouTube, which hold the audience numbers; the Virality Indicator on StreamYard's AI clips is a prediction, not a result (AI clips guide).
What StreamYard does
The studio streams or records from a browser tab. Guests open an invite link and join without an account or download (guest login), and from Core up 10 people fit on screen. Local recording saves separate audio and video files of each participant on their own device, so a weak connection does not ruin the edit (local recording guide). AI clips cuts vertical, captioned shorts from the recording afterwards. On-Air, the webinar product, embeds on your own site and takes 1,000+ viewers on Business (pricing).
Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits interview shows, panels and LinkedIn Lives run by one producer, where the hard part is guests rather than graphics. It suits less a production with many scenes and sources, the territory of free desktop software such as OBS Studio, or a webinar whose main job is selling to registrants.
Two billing facts matter in Europe: StreamYard charges in USD or Indian rupees only, and its money-back guarantee covers the first charge for 7 days (pricing FAQ).

The page adds that prices may vary with promotions, seasonal deals and renewal terms. A promotional first year is what the vendor is after; the renewal price is what you pay in year two, so get it in writing.
How it compares

FAQ

Do guests need a StreamYard account?
No, though you can require a Google or Facebook sign-in in the studio settings (guest login).
Can one stream go to two LinkedIn pages?
No. LinkedIn does not allow it; one LinkedIn destination runs beside other platforms (LinkedIn events guide).
