What Is Writesonic? AI Search Visibility With Content Tools

By Joris van Huët · Writesonic's own site

The short answer: if you knew Writesonic as an AI article writer, the product has moved: its homepage now sells an AI search growth engine that shows where ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your competitors instead of you, then helps fix it with content, outreach and technical work. Starter costs $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for 50 tracked prompts on those three platforms, per the Writesonic pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

What decides it:

  1. Cost per tracked question. Month to month, Starter is $99 / 50 = $1.98 per prompt and Growth is $499 / 200 = $2.495, using the pricing page. Write down the 50 questions your buyers ask before you pay for 200.
  2. What you already have. Your Search Console data, your strongest pages and your sales team's list of questions are the inputs, and the pricing table lists Search Console, GA4 and WordPress integrations.
  3. How you will read the score. Writesonic's own volatility guide says AI platforms vary their answers on purpose. Judge a trend over weeks, never one day's number.

What Writesonic does

The homepage describes a loop: track, prioritise, act, measure. Tracking runs your chosen prompts on AI platforms every day and records mentions, citations and sentiment. The Action Center ranks fixes, from missing prompts to citation gaps and technical issues. Acting covers AI-written or rewritten pages, outreach drafts to sites that cite competitors, and audits of robots.txt and crawl errors for bots like GPTBot and ClaudeBot. Measuring checks each fix at day 14 and day 28.

The older writing tools remain: every plan includes AI articles, from 15 a month on Starter to 50 on Growth, plus brand voice styles. An MCP server puts the visibility data into Claude, ChatGPT or n8n.

Who it fits, and who it does not

It fits B2B and ecommerce marketing teams that already have SEO basics and now see buyers start their research in AI assistants. It fits less well a team that needs Perplexity or Claude tracked: the pricing FAQ keeps those, with Microsoft Copilot and Grok, to Enterprise. A one-market plan also limits multi-country brands until Enterprise.

The full Action Center sits on Enterprise; Growth gets a trial of 5 off-page and 5 on-page actions a month. That trial is there to show a Growth customer what Enterprise would automate. A platform that sells both the diagnosis and the cure gains when the diagnosis finds plenty to cure, so read the Missing Prompts list against the questions your customers ask, not as a to-do list to clear.

How it compares

  • Profound offers a free 7-day trial with 50 prompts a day on the same three AI platforms, then moves straight to custom Enterprise packages tracking up to nine answer engines, per Profound's pricing, checked on 26 October 2026. It suits a larger team ready for a sales process.
  • Jasper charges $69 per seat a month, or $59 billed yearly, for Pro, per the Jasper pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026. It is a brand content platform first, with GEO agents on its custom Business plan; choose it when the bottleneck is on-brand production, not visibility data.

Getting started

Set your topics, prompts and competitors, then work one missing prompt to a published fix. How to use Writesonic follows that job.
