What Is Affonso? Partner Discovery Plus Affiliate Tracking

By Joris van Huët · Affonso's own site

The short answer: for a software company whose partners bring in under $1,000 a month, Affonso's Launch plan costs $15 a month, but only on yearly billing, so $180 up front; monthly billing starts on Growth at $39, or $29 a month billed yearly (checked on 26 October 2026 on the pricing page). Affonso describes itself as a partner growth platform: it finds affiliates and creators, tracks what they sell, and pays them.

Before you pick a plan:

  1. A three-month test costs less on Growth. For example, Launch is 12 x $15 = $180 paid for the year, while three months of Growth billed monthly is 3 x $39 = $117, using the pricing page and the Launch billing answer. If you are not sure the channel works, the dearer plan is the cheaper experiment.
  2. Check your billing provider is on the list. Affonso connects Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Creem and Dodo Payments, and a program on Rewardful, Tolt or FirstPromoter can be imported, per the homepage. Anything else goes through the API.
  3. Count what discovery returns. Each keyword or competitor searched costs one discovery credit, per the credits article. Track partners joined per credit spent, not results found.

What Affonso does

Most affiliate tools start once a partner arrives. Affonso adds the step before. The Affiliate Finder researches creators, publishers and affiliates by topic, keyword or competitor across websites, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, TikTok and other channels, and a Discovery agent keeps searching from a brief of your product, audience and competitors. An optional Marketplace lets partners find your program and apply. Affonso does not contact anyone for you; its homepage FAQ says the team keeps the first message.

The rest is the expected machinery: a branded partner portal with links, coupons and assets, in-app referrals embedded in your product, campaigns that pay for a piece of content rather than only a sale, and a Risk Center that flags self-referrals, disposable emails, paid traffic and blocked countries. On Growth and above, Managed Payouts settles every partner from one monthly invoice, and an MCP server with 37 tools connects Claude or ChatGPT to the account, per the MCP introduction.

Who it suits, and who it does not

Small software teams with a product people would recommend and no list of people to ask.

It suits less well a business billing on Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree, which are not among the native connections, or a team that wants a test mode: Affonso has none, and revenue tracked in a test program counts toward the plan's cap, per its sandbox guide.

The pricing FAQ lists no transaction fee and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Growth adds five team seats, private programs, a custom domain, double-sided incentives and the MCP server; Elite adds W-8 and W-9 collection and removes the Powered by label. Launch is yearly-only by design, and Affonso's billing answer gives the reason as runway: the cheapest door collects a full year's fee before a partner has sold anything, and anyone who wants to pay month by month starts one tier up.

Against FirstPromoter and Rewardful

  • FirstPromoter starts at $49 a month for up to $5,000 of affiliate revenue and reads Chargebee, Recurly and Braintree as well as Stripe and Paddle, per its pricing page. Choose it for billing reach, Affonso when finding partners is the bottleneck.
  • Rewardful costs $49 a month on Starter for up to $7,500 of affiliate revenue, per its pricing page, and its plans list no partner search. That matters less when your partners are already your customers.

FAQ

Is Affonso an affiliate network?

No. It is the platform you run your own program on; the Marketplace is an optional discovery layer, and your branded portal stays the home of each partner relationship, per the homepage FAQ.

Do discovery credits roll over?

On monthly plans the allocation resets each billing cycle; yearly plans receive all twelve months of credits at once, per the credits article.

Can I cancel and keep my data?

Yes. Cancellation is self-service from Billing; the dashboard stays open for setup and testing, data is kept, and a paid plan is needed only to make the program public, per the cancellation article.
