What Is Close? The Sales CRM Built Around the Phone
By Joris van Huët · Close's own site
The short answer: if your reps spend most of the day on the phone, Close puts the dialer, email, SMS and follow-up inside the CRM, so a lead is called from the screen it was created on. The plan that does that is Growth, $99 per user a month billed annually; the cheaper plans leave out workflows and the power dialer.

Before you start the 14-day trial:
- Price Growth for the whole team. For example, three reps on Growth cost 3 x $99 = $297 a month billed annually, or 3 x $109 = $327 billed monthly, on the pricing page, before call minutes.
- Add the calls. The pricing page puts most outbound calls at around $0.02 a minute, passed through at cost, and Close's usage article bills them at Twilio's rates, rounded up to the minute.
- Bring the lead statuses you already use; Close's call lists are filters on status and last call.
- Note today's response time from form to first call, so the trial has a number to beat.
What Close is built around
Calling is native. A rep builds a Smart View, a saved filter of leads, and the Power Dialer calls through it, rechecking the list every five minutes so new leads join the queue. Scale adds a predictive dialer and live coaching.
Workflows run the follow-up: a trigger such as a form submission or a new lead, then email, SMS and call steps with delays, stopped automatically when the lead replies, calls back or books a meeting, per the workflows guide. Close also builds its own web forms, which create leads directly.
Chloe, Close's AI agent, can take a call step in a workflow and phone the lead itself, paid for from AI credits each plan includes. For outside AI tools, Close's MCP server has three scopes: read-only, read and write, and one that can also delete.
Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits inside sales teams of a few reps up to a large calling floor, and a marketing lead whose inbound leads need a call within minutes. It suits less well a team that rarely phones, or one that needs SMS on Dutch numbers: the usage article lists ten SMS countries, including Belgium, France and Denmark, but not the Netherlands. For EU data, Close's GDPR page offers a processing agreement with standard contractual clauses.
What it costs, checked on 24 October 2026
Per user per month, in USD, on the Close pricing page:
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Limits that matter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $9 | $19 | 1 user, 10,000 leads, no workflows |
| Essentials | $35 | $49 | No workflows, no power dialer |
| Growth | $99 | $109 | Workflows, power dialer, bulk email |
| Scale | $139 | $149 | Predictive dialer, lead visibility rules |
The trial needs no card, and the pricing page offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. The entry price is the one on the banner, while the plan that does the job is two rows down; read the workflow and dialer rows before the price column.
Against HighLevel and Pipedrive
HighLevel prices per agency rather than per rep and adds funnels, white label and client sub-accounts; Close is the tighter tool for one sales team that dials. Pipedrive's homepage leads with the visual pipeline, forecasting and goal-setting; Close leads with the dialer and the workflow behind it, which decides it for teams whose day is calls rather than deal reviews.
Getting started
Build one form, one Smart View and one workflow, then dial. How to use Close takes an inbound lead from form to first call.
