What Is Convert.com? A/B Testing Priced by Tested Users

By Joris van Huët · Convert.com's own site

The short answer: Convert.com sells one testing suite, Convert Experiences, at a published price: on Growth, $299 a month billed annually or $399 month to month for 100,000 tested users a month (pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026). It suits a marketing or CRO team with the traffic to finish tests that wants sample ratio checks and an MCP server on the entry plan, without a sales call.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Before you start the trial:

  1. Count people, not tests. A tested user is billed once per period however many tests they enter (pricing FAQ). For example, if 70,000 different people enter at least one test in a month, you use 70,000 of Growth's 100,000, whether they saw one test or three.
  2. Check the limit that bites first. Growth allows 5 active experiences per project, 5 projects and 30 goals per project; Pro lifts experiences to unlimited (plan comparison).
  3. Spend day one on an A/A test. Two identical versions should end inconclusive; a declared winner points to a setup problem (A/A guide).
  4. Switch on the SRM check. It flags traffic splits that drift from what you set, and it lives under Project Configuration, then More Settings (SRM guide).

What Convert Experiences does

Growth covers A/B and split URL tests, deploys, behavioural targeting, heatmaps, a QA wizard and the SRM check; Pro adds multivariate and multi-page tests, full-stack testing with feature flags, multi-armed bandits, sequential testing and single sign-on (pricing page). Reports run on frequentist t-tests, with Bonferroni or Sidak corrections for several variants, or on Bayesian chance to win (statistics guide). A consent setting holds cookies, and if you choose experiments too, until the visitor agrees (consent guide).

The MCP server comes as a hosted connector, where you approve accounts and projects through OAuth, or a local npm package limited to reporting, read-only or full access. Activating or pausing a test needs explicit confirmation, and when it detects a sample ratio mismatch the server withholds a verdict (MCP page).

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits a team or agency that tests every week on pages with real volume and wants a fixed bill. It suits less well a small site that cannot reach a sample in a reasonable time, or a team without a developer: none of the plans include development support (pricing page).

What it costs

USD excluding tax, checked on 26 October 2026 on the Convert pricing page.

There is no free plan; the trial runs 15 days with no card (homepage). Overuse billing stays on until you switch it off, at $399 per extra 100,000 tested users on Growth (pricing page), which turns a traffic spike into revenue for Convert before anyone has decided the test needed those visitors.

How it compares

VWO. VWO now sells as Wingify after its merger with AB Tasty, with prices quoted on monthly active users, a 30-day trial and SRM detection listed in its Pro tier (Wingify pricing). Choose it for testing, personalization and analytics in one contract.

Optibase. Optibase has a free plan for 10,000 tested users and Basic at $79 a month billed monthly (Optibase pricing), and sells heatmaps and recordings on the same no-code platform (Optibase homepage). Choose it for lower traffic and a smaller budget.

Getting started

Install the tag, run an A/A test and then a real one. How to use Convert.com takes a demo-request page from tag to verdict.

FAQ

What counts as a tested user?

A visitor bucketed into any experience in the billing period, counted once (pricing FAQ).

What happens if traffic passes the allowance?

Convert notifies you at 90% and 100%, keeps the account running and bills overuse unless you have turned it off (pricing FAQ).

Does the MCP server cost extra?

No. The MCP page lists it on all plans.
