What Is EngageBay? CRM, Email and Help Desk on One Bill

By Joris van Huët · EngageBay's own site

The short answer: you are not misreading the EngageBay pricing page: it opens on two-year prices, so Growth reads $55.24 per user a month until you click Monthly, where it is $64.99, on the pricing page checked on 24 October 2026. Behind it sits an all-in-one CRM for small businesses that want email marketing, a pipeline and a help desk from one vendor.

Before you choose a tier:

  1. Price the term you will sign. For example, three users on Growth pay 3 x $64.99 = $194.97 a month on monthly billing, or 3 x $55.24 = $165.72 on the biennial term; over 24 months the gap is (194.97 - 165.72) x 24 = $702, using the pricing page figures.
  2. Count the list you already have. Contacts, not features, set the tier: 250 on Free, 500 on Basic, 5,000 on Growth and 10,000 on Pro, after which the pricing page asks you to book a call. Migration from another platform is listed as free.
  3. Check the sending allowance. Branded emails run from 1,000 on Free to 50,000 on Pro on the plan comparison, which does not say over what period, so ask before you plan a weekly send to the whole list.

What EngageBay does

It sells Marketing Bay (broadcasts, sequences, forms, landing pages), CRM and Sales Bay (contacts, deals, proposals, calling) and Service Bay (tickets, live chat), separately or as one All-in-One plan. The AI page lists email copy suggestions, send-time selection, lead scoring and a support chatbot trained on your knowledge base; the plan comparison caps AI conversations at 20 a month on Free and 500 on Pro.

For agents outside the app, the EngageBay MCP server gives an AI assistant read and write access to contacts, deals, tasks and appointments; records can be created and updated but never deleted.

Who it suits

A founder or small marketing team that wants one login for the newsletter, the pipeline and the support inbox. It suits less well a team with a list well past 10,000 contacts, where the Pro cap on the pricing page turns pricing into a conversation, or one that needs marketing automation on a low tier: the plan cards list it from Growth.

All prices are per user a month in USD, from the pricing page. The single-module Marketing and CRM and Sales plans start at $11.04, and Service Bay offers a free help desk. A pricing page that opens on its longest commitment is doing its job; yours is to price the term you will sign.

How it compares

Against HubSpot, it comes down to budget for automation: HubSpot's Marketing Hub pricing starts Professional at $800 a month with a required one-time $3,000 onboarding, while EngageBay puts marketing automation on Growth at a per-user price.

Against Zoho CRM, it is the shape of the suite: Zoho's pricing page offers a free edition for 3 users and Standard at $14 per user a month billed annually, a sales CRM inside a wider set of Zoho business apps, where EngageBay bundles email marketing and a help desk into the CRM itself.

Getting started

How to use EngageBay walks through one job: a website form with double opt-in that tags each sign-up and feeds an email sequence.

FAQ

Is EngageBay free?

Yes. The free plan covers 250 contacts and 1,000 branded emails on the pricing page, and the homepage describes it as free for 15 users with no credit card.

Can Basic be paid month to month?

The Monthly tab still labels Basic's $14.99 as paid yearly on the pricing page, so confirm the terms with EngageBay before you count on cancelling after one month.

Can an AI assistant update EngageBay?

Yes, through the hosted MCP server. Access follows the permissions of the user who authorises it, and you can disconnect the agent at any time.
