What Is Jotform? Forms With Approvals and E-Signatures

The short answer: if you suspect the free Starter plan is too small for a live campaign, its limits confirm it: 5 forms, 100 submissions a month, 500 stored submissions and 10 signed documents a month. Bronze lifts that to 25 forms, 1,000 submissions and 100 signed documents for $39 a month, or $34 a month billed yearly (checked on 26 October 2026 on the pricing page). Jotform is a form builder that carries each submission onward, through approvals, e-signatures, tables and payments, for marketing teams whose forms start a process: event registrations, partner applications, creator contracts.

Count three things before choosing a tier:
- Stored submissions as well as monthly ones. Bronze accepts 1,000 submissions a month but stores 10,000 in total, so a form running at its monthly limit fills storage in 10,000 / 1,000 = 10 months, per the pricing page.
- The documents you already sign. Jotform Sign turns an existing PDF into a signable document and can detect its fields, per the upload guide, so today's contracts become the first templates.
- The signature count. Signed documents have their own monthly cap: 10, 100, 250 or 1,000 by plan. Count last month's signatures before assuming the form limit is the one you will hit.
What happens after submit
The builder is drag and drop, with conditional logic, payment fields and, by the count on Jotform's homepage, 150+ integrations and 20,000+ templates; the AI Form Builder drafts a form from a prompt. The difference is what follows. Jotform Workflows routes a submission through approvals, conditions, tasks, emails and payment requests. Jotform Sign sends documents for signature on any device, alone or inside a workflow. AI Agents answer questions and collect data in a chat or on the phone.
Who it suits
Teams where a submission needs a decision or a signature before anything else happens: influencer onboarding, sponsor applications, event waivers. Nonprofits and schools get 50% off Bronze, Silver and Gold, per the pricing page. It suits less well several colleagues sharing one account below Enterprise, the only multiuser plan.
Storage location is settled in settings. Jotform's EU data residency guide says accounts created in the European Union get its Europe data centre automatically, and other accounts can move under Settings, Data, GDPR Datacenter.

Starter forms and signed documents carry Jotform branding. Read the storage column twice. Once an account passes its total submission storage, the pricing FAQ says the system deletes the oldest response to make room for the newest: the default protects the plan's limit rather than your archive, and an upgrade is what it offers to stop the loss. Download and purge old submissions before the counter fills.
Against DocuSign, Tally and Typeform
- DocuSign Standard costs $30 per user a month on an annual commitment and includes 100 envelopes per user per year, checked on 26 October 2026. If signing is the whole job and legal already lives in DocuSign, stay; if the signature follows a form and an approval, Jotform does all three on one account.
- Tally gives unlimited forms and submissions free, within a fair use policy, per its pricing page. Choose it when the form is the end of the job.
- Typeform meters monthly responses and puts its effort into the form experience; Jotform puts it into what happens once the form is sent.

FAQ
Is there a free trial of a paid plan?
No. The pricing FAQ points to the free Starter plan, which includes the standard features except the HIPAA ones, and offers a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of a payment.
How many people can use one Jotform account?
Starter, Bronze, Silver and Gold are each listed as a one-user individual plan. Enterprise is the multiuser plan, with user management and single sign-on, per the pricing page.
Can I use Jotform from Claude?
Yes. Point an MCP client at the server address on the MCP page and approve the OAuth screen; only workspace admins can install the app, and access is revoked under My Account, Connected Apps.
