What Is Ontraport? CRM, Automation and Payments Together
By Joris van Huët · Ontraport's own site
The short answer: if you sell courses, memberships, coaching or services online and today stitch together a form tool, an email tool, a checkout and a members area, Ontraport puts all four in one account. Plus starts at $83 a month billed annually, or $99 monthly, and the price rises with the number of contacts you hold.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Before you start the two-week trial:
- Work out a year both ways. For example, Pro billed monthly is 12 x $149 = $1,788, against $1,490 billed annually, per the pricing page: the annual plan's "two months free" is $298.
- List the tools Ontraport would replace and what each costs now; the saving is real only for the ones you would cancel.
- Pick one goal to watch, such as a purchase, before you build the first automation.
What Ontraport does
The centre is the automation map: a trigger such as a form fill puts a contact on it, actions send email or SMS or update the record, and a goal, such as a purchase, pulls contacts who reach it onto a new path, per the automation guide.
Around it sit landing pages and forms, order forms with subscriptions, payment plans and trials, and membership sites. Order forms on Ontraport's own pages handle card compliance for you, while forms embedded elsewhere leave that site to meet PCI requirements, per the Ontraform guide.
Each map has a Performance Mode with funnel conversion, lifetime value and goal conversion time reports; ROI and UTM filters need Pro, per the Performance Mode guide.
For AI, Ontraport runs an MCP server that Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can connect to with OAuth. Its own guide warns that an agent sees a bounded set of records, and sends whole-database jobs to the API or to n8n, Zapier or Make instead.
Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits creators, coaches, course businesses and service firms that sell and deliver online and want one system of record for leads, buyers and members. It suits less well a B2B sales team that works deals by phone, or a company committed to a separate checkout and membership platform.
Prices, checked on 24 October 2026
From the Ontraport pricing page, in USD, starting prices:
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually |
|---|---|---|
| Plus | $99 a month | $990 a year ($83 a month) |
| Pro | $149 a month | $1,490 a year ($124 a month) |
| Enterprise | $299 a month | $2,990 a year ($249 a month) |
The price climbs with your contact count on the page's calculator. Pro adds UTM and pixel reporting, partner programs and custom user roles; Enterprise adds field-level permissions. Inbox and Dynamic CMS are paid add-ons, and a one-time Done-With-You Setup costs $897, per the same pricing page. A plan that bundles everything is easiest to sell by counting the tools it replaces; count instead the hours your team will spend moving into it.
Against HighLevel and HubSpot
HighLevel is the agency version of the idea, with unlimited client sub-accounts on its $297 Unlimited plan; Ontraport is built for one business selling its own products. HubSpot prices per seat and adds AI credits by tier, 500 on Starter and 3,000 on Sales Hub Professional, per its sales pricing page; Ontraport prices by plan and list size, so headcount against contact count decides it.

FAQ
Is there a free trial?
Yes, two weeks without a card. A trial started from the homepage is a Pro account; one started from the pricing page lets you pick the plan and add-ons, per the trial guide.
Can I send from a Gmail address?
No. Ontraport sends only from addresses on a custom domain you have set up, per the sender guide.
Can an AI assistant change my contacts?
Yes. Through the MCP server it can create, read, update and delete records. Ontraport's MCP guide advises a validation step between the agent's output and any write when it runs unattended.
