What Is Tidio? Lyro AI Agent, Live Chat and Sales Flows

By Joris van Huët · Tidio's own site

The short answer: if two or three people answer a shop's chat and fewer than 100 of those conversations a month need a human reply, Tidio's Starter plan at $29 a month covers the team, because the AI is billed on a separate meter: the Lyro AI Agent starts at $39 a month for 50 conversations (monthly billing, checked on 26 October 2026 on the pricing page). Tidio is live chat, a help desk and an AI agent called Lyro, built first for Shopify and WooCommerce stores, and each of its three products can be bought alone or together.

Three meters, worked out before you pick a plan:

  1. Human replies. Tidio bills a conversation to the team plan only once a person writes in it; Lyro and Flows replies do not count, per the pricing FAQ. For example, 400 chats a month with 250 closed by Lyro leaves 400 - 250 = 150 for your team, past Starter's 100, so the plan is Growth, from $59 for 250.
  2. The help desk you already pay for. Lyro is sold on its own and can sit on top of Zendesk, Salesforce or another help desk (pricing page), so a team happy with its inbox buys only the AI.
  3. What "resolved" means. Tidio's analytics article counts a conversation as resolved when the visitor left or did not ask for an agent. Read a sample of those chats yourself before you trust the rate.

What Tidio does

Per the homepage, Lyro answers from sources you approve, recommends products as cards in the chat and hands a case to a person when it cannot answer. Sales Flows open the chat on behaviour you choose, such as a full cart or an exit. The Help Desk puts chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger in one inbox. Lyro can also connect to MCP servers (MCP article).

Who it suits, and who it does not

A Shopify or WooCommerce shop where the same pre-sale and policy questions arrive all day and a small team answers the rest. Self-serve plans stop at 10 agents, per the pricing FAQ. Less suited: a team that wants one flat price, since the bill moves with three meters at once.

A customer-facing Lyro brings the EU AI Act's disclosure duty, which the LiveAgent entry sets out (Article 50, consolidated text on EUR-Lex). Lyro AI Agent subscribers can rename the agent (Lyro settings article); give it a human first name and the line saying it is an AI matters more, not less.

What it costs

In US dollars, checked on 26 October 2026 on the Tidio pricing page:

The 7-day trial needs no card and ends on the Free plan. Tidio hands out Lyro for 50 conversations and then sells it by the month: on the Free plan the live chat and Flows quotas reset, while the AI allowance is spent once and Lyro stops when it runs out (Lyro limit article).

How it compares

LiveChat. New LiveChat trials now start on its Text plans, priced per user: Essential is $25 per user a month with 10 AI resolutions included (LiveChat pricing). Headcount drives that bill; volume drives Tidio's.

Smartsupp. Smartsupp gives a single operator unlimited human conversations on Solo for $24 a month, with its Mira AI agent from $20 a month for 100 conversations (Smartsupp pricing). A lone founder with steady chat volume pays less there.

Getting started

How to use Tidio takes one job end to end: Lyro answering a shop's repeat questions from your own pages, with handoff rules and a weekly review of what it could not answer.

FAQ

Can Lyro check a Shopify order?

Yes, through the Get order status template, which asks the shopper for an email and order ID; the templates article lists it for Plus and Premium and for selected Lyro AI Agent subscribers while it is still being tested.

Does Tidio work outside ecommerce?

Yes. The homepage FAQ names SaaS, services, education and finance; the deepest integrations are the store ones.

Does a handoff use up Lyro's quota?

Not when Lyro hands over straight away. A thread that goes quiet for 15 minutes and restarts counts again (Lyro limit article).
