What Is Wisepops? Onsite Campaigns Run With a Strategist
By Joris van Huët · Wisepops's own site
The short answer: You are not misreading it: on 26 October 2026 the Wisepops homepage put its high-touch plan at $499 a month, while the FAQ on its pricing page said plans start at $599 a month for sites up to 1M pageviews, so get the quote in writing. Either figure buys an onsite platform (popups, bars, an onsite feed, embeds and web push, tested against control groups) with a strategist who runs it. Shopify stores can skip the strategist and pay $299 a month through the Shopify App Store.

Before you book the demo:
- Price the self-serve route first. The Shopify plan covers up to 500,000 pageviews a month for $299, or $2,990 a year, on the App Store listing. For example, 12 x $299 = $3,588, so the yearly price saves $598, two months.
- Keep the email tool you have. The pricing page FAQ says Wisepops pushes each captured lead into Klaviyo and can target campaigns on Klaviyo segments.
- Ask for the holdout in writing. The homepage FAQ offers an optional test of visitors who see Wisepops campaigns against a holdout group that sees nothing, read after 3 months. Put the share of traffic and the end date into the order.
What Wisepops does
The homepage calls it "The AI Traffic Activation Platform". In practice that is six onsite channels behind one script: popups, bars, embeds inside your pages, quizzes, web push for visitors who have left, and the onsite feed, a notification panel opened from your header. Shopify stores also get AI product recommendations and AI cart recovery, which the features page marks as Shopify only.
Who it suits, and who it does not
It suits an ecommerce or lead generation team with real traffic and no conversion specialist in house, because the strategist comes with the plan. Traffic matters more than budget, because the test that counts runs against a control group: the results guide puts detecting an uplift of around 10% at about 50,000 visitors per variant, so a control-group test needs around 100,000 visitors inside two months.
It suits less well a small site off Shopify. The homepage FAQ points smaller sites to the App Store for self-service, so other sites start with a demo.
What it costs
On Shopify, $299 a month for up to 500,000 pageviews with a 14-day trial, per the App Store listing. Elsewhere, from $499 or $599 a month depending on which Wisepops page you read, scaled by pageviews, with every feature in every plan and two months free on annual billing (homepage, pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026).
The demo is also the sales process: you add the script, a 14-day trial opens, and on day seven a strategist presents an audit of your visitors with an estimate of what five campaigns would add. That audit is free consulting and the sales case in one document, written by the people who sell the subscription, so weigh it against the holdout, not instead of it.
How it compares
OptiMonk. Self-serve, free up to 10,000 pageviews, paid from $19 a month billed yearly or $29 billed monthly on its pricing page, each plan with an AI agent and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.
OptinMonster. Sold on campaign impressions, with Basic at $9 a month as an introductory yearly price that renews at $210 a year, and A/B testing only from Plus, per its pricing page.
What decides it is who runs the programme. Wisepops sells the operator with the tool; the other two sell the tool.
Getting started
Start with one campaign and a control group: how to use Wisepops walks through the test. If what is missing is the person who owns conversion rather than the software, an interim CMO fills that seat; that is work I sell.
FAQ
Do I need a developer to install Wisepops?
No. The pricing page FAQ asks for someone who can add one script tag, in the site code or through Google Tag Manager.
Does Wisepops need cookie consent?
Its FAQ classes Wisepops cookies as strictly necessary and says they need no separate consent. Check that reading with whoever owns your cookie banner before launch.
Can I run Wisepops without the strategist?
On Shopify, yes: the homepage FAQ describes the App Store plan as the full platform without the audit, strategist or reviews.
