What Is Chipp? A Builder for AI Agents and Software

By Joris van Huët · Chipp's own site

The short answer: if you want one AI agent answering customers from your own documents, Chipp sells it on a single plan: $299 a month with every feature, unlimited users and $100 of AI usage (pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026). Chipp is a platform that builds AI agents and software; it also fits consultants who want to sell an agent, and fits a team that needs only a small chatbot less well, because there is no cheaper tier.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

What decides it:

  1. The floor. Every plan starts at $299 a month, which is $3,588 a year; having Chipp configure a template adds $2,500 once, so that first year comes to $6,088 (pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026).
  2. Whether your answers are written down. Agents answer from sources you upload, from PDFs and spreadsheets to URLs and audio (knowledge guide). An FAQ and a pricing page are most of an agent already.
  3. The number you will judge it on. Insights counts sessions and messages, and sign-ups export as a CSV (analytics guide). Pick the one that must move.

What Chipp builds

Its documentation splits the platform in two (Chipp docs). AI App Builder configures a chatbot or agent that runs for your end users, on a website widget, WhatsApp, Slack, email or a phone number. Alchemist uses autonomous agents to build and ship software from a plain-language ticket.

For marketing, Signup Fields put a short lead form in front of a chat, and the HubSpot integration lets the agent find or create contacts (HubSpot page).

Where it fits

It suits a scale-up whose pre-sales or support questions repeat all week and that would rather have the vendor configure the first agent, and agencies or course creators who want to sell what they know as an agent, as the homepage pitches. HIPAA is on every plan, backed by SOC 2 Type II. It fits less well a team that wants many small automations across apps.

What it costs

Checked on 24 October 2026 on Chipp's pricing page, in USD a month: $299 to build it yourself, $299 plus $2,500 once to have Chipp configure a template, or $299 plus a scoped fee for a custom build.

Two gaps. Usage above $100 is priced at "[usage rate]", a placeholder, not a figure. And Chipp's own Pricing & Usage article, dated 6 December 2025, still lists Builder at $29 and Studio at $99 a month. Ask which applies, in writing.

The homepage promises a first tool live in 30 days, or Chipp covers the monthly fee until it ships. That is a real commitment, and it is built to get your data onto the platform in month one, so agree what "live" means first.

Next to CustomGPT.ai

CustomGPT.ai sells no-code AI assistants grounded in your data and meters them by queries: Standard is $99 a month billed monthly for 1,000 queries, 10 agents and 3 team members, after a 7-day free trial (CustomGPT.ai pricing, checked on 24 October 2026). What decides it is volume and help: a small team building alone pays less there, while Chipp meters AI usage in dollars, includes unlimited users, and will build the agent for you.

The cheapest test is the free 20-minute build session on the homepage, with your ten most frequent questions in hand. How to use Chipp builds a lead-capture website agent from Chipp's docs.

FAQ

Does Chipp have a free plan?

No. Every plan on the pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026, is $299 a month; the free step is the build session.

Can I charge people to use an agent I build?

Yes, through credit packages or subscriptions on your own Stripe account, and Chipp takes no fee on those payments (selling access guide). Buyers must sign up first.

Is it only for chatbots?

No. Alchemist, the second half of the docs, builds APIs, backend services, workers and data pipelines from a ticket, and the software it ships need not contain any AI.
