What Is lemlist? Multichannel Outreach in One Sequence
By Joris van Huët · lemlist's own site
The short answer: lemlist is an outreach platform from lempire that runs email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp steps in one campaign, with the lemwarm warm-up included in every plan. It suits B2B sales teams whose prospects answer on LinkedIn as often as by email, and who want contact data and buying signals as add-ons inside the same tool.

What a lemlist campaign holds
A campaign has three parts, in lemlist's own framing: the sequence is what you say, the lead list is who you say it to, and the launch is when. The campaign guide describes email, LinkedIn, call and task steps, conditions that branch on lead data or behaviour, and a sender choice for each email step.
The pricing page lists the wider kit: LinkedIn visits, invitations, messages and voice notes; in-app calling; an AI assistant, lemAgent; intent signal agents; a people database with email and phone finders; a Deliverability Hub; a unified inbox; HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive integrations; and an API and MCP server.
Who it fits, and who should look elsewhere
It suits teams that sell where LinkedIn carries part of the conversation, and teams in Europe: the interface comes in English, French, German and Spanish, and billing can be in dollars, euros or pounds. The email-only plan has unlimited users and senders, which helps a large team that never touches LinkedIn.
It suits less well anyone who wants heavy volume from each mailbox. lemlist's sending limits guide sets a ceiling of 50 emails a day per mailbox, warm-up included, and tells you to add mailboxes rather than raise limits. Transactional senders such as SendGrid, Mailgun and Amazon SES cannot be connected at all.
EU law has one narrow route to email someone without fresh consent, and cold prospects are not on it. Article 13(2) of the ePrivacy Directive (EUR-Lex) lets a business market its own similar products to customers whose address it got during a sale, provided they can object when the address is collected and in every message. For everyone else the default is consent, with national rules for company recipients, so check each country.

Multichannel gives each user five senders plus LinkedIn, SMS and the dialer. Data is an add-on: enrichment costs $20 a month for 2,000 credits, enough for 400 emails or 100 phone numbers, and buying signals $29 a month for 100. WhatsApp steps add $20 per user a month. Unused credits roll over while the subscription stays active, per the same pricing page.
Set against Mailshake
lemlist vs Mailshake weighs it against Mailshake, a simpler tool whose top plan adds a phone dialer instead of LinkedIn steps.
Before the first campaign
Connect a mailbox, warm it with lemwarm for several weeks, then build the sequence, import leads and launch. How to use lemlist walks through it from lemlist's help centre.
