What Is AWeber? Email for Creators and Small Businesses

By Joris van Huët · AWeber's own site

The short answer: if you publish something regularly, a blog, a YouTube channel, an Etsy shop, and want new posts to reach subscribers without writing each email, AWeber is built around that habit, with RSS to email and a newsletter assistant that drafts in your voice. Lite costs $15 a month on monthly billing for up to 500 subscribers and caps you at three automations; Plus, at $30, lifts every cap (pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026).

What decides the plan:

  1. The automation count, not the subscriber count. Lite includes 3 email automations, 3 landing pages and 1 list. A welcome series plus an RSS workflow uses 2 of the 3, which leaves room for one more before Plus at $30 - $15 = $15 a month extra (pricing page).
  2. What you already publish. If your content has a feed, AWeber's RSS workflow can mail it on publication or on a schedule (RSS guide).
  3. The number you will check. Lite includes advanced message analytics and sales tracking; decide which figure tells you the list works before paying for Plus's advanced reporting.

What AWeber does

AWeber's homepage lists email, automations, landing pages, ecommerce pages, web push and an AI writing assistant. Landing pages can sell products, subscriptions and payment plans; the pricing page puts the transaction fee at 1.0% on Lite and 0.6% on Plus.

Two features are particular to it. The Newsletter Assistant learns your writing style and delivers a weekly draft to your inbox for you to edit and send. The AWeber MCP is listed in Claude's connector directory and the ChatGPT App Directory, answers questions about broadcasts, automations and list health, and saves any email it writes to AWeber as a draft.

Who it is for

AWeber's solutions menu names bloggers, coaches, Etsy shops, newsletters and YouTubers, and the features follow: feeds, sales pages, a weekly draft. It fits a store that needs order-driven cart flows, or a team that needs a CRM, less well.

Prices

USD, for 0 to 500 subscribers, on the AWeber pricing page on 24 October 2026, which served two layouts; both showed these figures.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled annually, per monthMonthly sends
Lite$15$12.5010 x subscriber count
Plus$30$2012 x subscriber count

Prices rise with the list, and lists above 100,000 subscribers are quoted by AWeber. The free plan page is titled "500 Subscribers, 3,000 Emails a Month". Paid plans start with a 14-day trial.

How it compares

MailerLite. MailerLite's Comfort plan costs $12 a month on monthly billing for 500 subscribers and 5,000 emails, and every paid plan gets the full feature set (MailerLite pricing). If three automations would box you in, weigh that; if you want feeds and a drafted weekly newsletter, AWeber documents both.

Mailchimp. Mailchimp's Essentials plan starts at $13 a month, its free plan is for businesses with fewer than 250 contacts, and overages apply when you pass a contact or send limit (Mailchimp pricing). AWeber's free plan page offers 500 subscribers, so for a very small list the free tiers decide it.

A pricing page is written to sell the tier above the one you need. On AWeber the pressure sits on automations and landing pages, not subscribers, so count your workflows before you upgrade.

FAQ

Does AWeber have a free plan?

Yes. AWeber's free plan page describes it as 500 subscribers and 3,000 emails a month; the 14-day trial applies to Lite and Plus.

Can AWeber send my blog posts automatically?

Yes. The Share Feed Content workflow checks your RSS feed and emails new posts immediately after publishing or once a set number of new posts has built up (RSS guide).

What happens if my domain authentication lapses?

AWeber checks authentication every time a broadcast is sent. If the domain is no longer authenticated, the broadcast returns to Draft and you are asked to re-authenticate, per the sending address guide.
