What Is Gumloop? An AI Agent Platform Billed in Credits
By Joris van Huët · Gumloop's own site
The short answer: if your team wants several AI agents doing research, CRM upkeep or reporting inside its own tools, Gumloop's Pro plan covers it for $37 a month with 20,000 credits and unlimited seats (pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026). Gumloop is an AI agent platform: agents work through connectors, run on schedules or events and spend credits by the task, so it suits a team that needs a fixed cost per task less well.

Rule of thumb on credits:
- What the allowance buys. A credit is $0.005, so 20,000 credits are $100 of usage at list price for $37 (credits page). The same page works through a chat that ends at 459 credits; for example, 20,000 / 459 = 43.6, or 43 such chats a month.
- What you already run. Agents act through connectors to apps you have, from Slack to HubSpot, so start with a task that already lives in two of them.
- How you will know. Every chat shows its credit cost by model, tools, compute and fee. Track cost per useful output.
What it is today
Gumloop's documentation calls it an AI agent platform: an agent gets a model, instructions, connectors, skills and company knowledge, and picks its own tools for each task (agents page). Triggers start it on a schedule, an app event or a webhook. Approvals put a person in front of sensitive tool calls: per connector you can allow everything, ask each time, or ask only before writes and deletes (human in the loop). Agents also work inside Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Who it fits
Teams that want to hand agents to several people at once: Pro includes unlimited seats, shared credentials and one pool of credits, and the homepage's use cases include competitor analysis and SEO automation. It fits less well an organisation that needs SSO, SCIM, audit logs or custom roles from day one; the docs place those among Enterprise features.
The bill, line by line
Checked on 24 October 2026 on Gumloop's pricing page: Pro starts at $37 a month with 20,000 credits (7,400 at list price plus 12,600 bonus credits); Enterprise is priced on request. The credits page defines each charge: model tokens at the provider's cost, 1 credit per successful connector call plus any fee the tool adds, 5 credits per minute of active compute, and an orchestration fee of 8% on the total. Pro credits reset monthly without rollover.
Bonus credits make $37 buy $100 of usage while you stay subscribed, and the 14-day trial needs a card and becomes a paid plan unless cancelled (cancellation guide). Both are built to keep you subscribed; diary the trial's end.
Against n8n and Zapier
n8n calls itself the platform for agents and workflows you can follow: every step is visible, pricing counts workflow executions with unlimited users, and a Community Edition can be self-hosted (n8n pricing). Choose it when you want to inspect and own each step. Zapier bills in tasks, where every Zap step and connector call uses tasks, with 100 a month free (Zapier pricing, checked on 24 October 2026); it suits fixed chains across many apps, where Gumloop suits open-ended work an agent plans itself.
Getting started
Begin with one agent and two connectors. How to use Gumloop builds a weekly competitor brief in Slack with an approval step.
FAQ
Is Gumloop still a workflow builder?
The workflow builder remains, listed as "Workflows (Legacy)" with five concurrent runs on Pro per the pricing page. The docs now lead with agents, which says where the product is going.
Can I use my own OpenAI or Anthropic key?
Yes. Model credits drop to zero and the orchestration fee rises from 8% to 16% of what the task would have cost, per the credits page.
What happens when credits run out?
Agents stop until you enable pay-as-you-go at $0.005 a credit, capped on Pro at 1,000,000 credits per billing period by default (credits page, checked on 24 October 2026).
