What Is Wave.video? Editor, Live Studio and Hosting

By Joris van Huët · Wave.video's own site

The short answer: if one marketer edits your social clips, streams a monthly show and hosts the results on landing pages, Wave.video covers all three under one login from $20 a month on monthly billing, with editing capped at 5 minutes a video on that Streamer plan and 30 minutes on Creator at $30 (Wave.video pricing, checked on 24 October 2026). Animatron Inc. makes it.

Read the limits before the features:

  1. Price the hosting past the allowance. Business includes 200 embedded videos, then charges $0.20 a month per extra embed (pricing FAQ). For example, 260 embeds add 60 x $0.20 = $12 a month. A help article quotes 1 cent for the same embed, so confirm first (hosting costs).
  2. Count the embeds you already run. Free stops at 5, Streamer and Creator at 20 (hosting costs), so a site with more starts at Business.
  3. Test the free limit yourself. The pricing table gives the free editor 15 minutes; the FAQ below it says 15 seconds. Check in the editor.
  4. Pick the number you will read. Landing pages take a Google tracking ID and UTM tags on the button (landing page guide); choose one as the record.

What Wave.video does

The editor trims, resizes and combines clips, adds captions and animated text, and drafts a video from a script or a blog post URL, which its AI condenses into scenes (article-to-video guide). The live studio streams live or pre-recorded video to several channels with guests. Hosting gives each video an embed code, a branded player and a landing page. Videos publish to YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or HubSpot, but not Instagram (Instagram guide).

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits a team of one or two, or an agency on Business keeping a saved brand per client (branding guide), that wants one bill for making, streaming and hosting. A larger team fits less: the FAQ's answer to collaboration is sharing one set of login credentials. Many help articles were last edited two years ago, so screens can differ.

Business includes 200 captioning minutes a month, then 5 cents a minute, and the same page's FAQ gives it 200 GB of storage where the table says 500 GB.

A bundle is priced so the part you use most carries the parts you rarely open. That is how it pays for the vendor; price it against the single tool you would otherwise buy for your main job.

How it compares

FlexClip. FlexClip's plans centre on editing, with 100 GB of hosting space on Plus at $11.99 a month billed annually and no live studio listed (FlexClip pricing, checked on 24 October 2026). Choose it if you never go live.

StreamYard. When the live show is the main job, StreamYard is a studio built around guests, at $299 a month for company use on monthly billing (StreamYard pricing, same date).

Wistia. When hosting is the main job and leads must reach HubSpot or Marketo, Wistia puts viewing data on the contact record, through a Signals tier that costs more than this whole bundle (Wistia pricing).

Getting started

Start from a post you already have: How to use Wave.video turns one into a captioned video with a landing page. If the question is which of several overlapping video tools to keep, the stack is the problem rather than the tool, and a one-week review like the Startup Fixer covers it.

FAQ

Can I download videos on the free plan?

No. Downloads are for paying users; any plan can publish straight to social platforms (download guide).

Can landing pages run on my own domain?

On Business: point a subdomain at custom.wave.video with a CNAME record, then update old links by hand (custom domain guide).

Are there separate seats for a team?

Not as described: the FAQ points teams to shared credentials and folders (pricing FAQ). Ask about custom plans if you need individual accounts.
