What Is Moosend? Unlimited Sends, Priced by Subscribers
By Joris van Huët · Moosend's own site
The short answer: If your list is between 1,000 and 10,000 people and you send often, Moosend's Pro plan charges by active subscribers with no monthly send cap: $48 a month for 5,000 subscribers on monthly billing, per its pricing page. It is an email marketing and automation platform, now part of Constant Contact, with automation recipes, landing pages, forms and website tracking in the same plan.

Rule of thumb before you choose a billing term:
- Price the term, not just the plan. For 5,000 subscribers, monthly billing is $48 and annual billing works out at $38 a month, so a year costs $576 or $456 (pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026). That is $48 x 12 = $576 against $38 x 12 = $456, a $120 difference paid once, up front.
- Count unique people, not list rows. Moosend bills on unique active subscribers, so someone on three lists counts once (plans and credits). Merge your exports before you size the plan.
- Watch the non-opener count. Moosend has a trigger for people who stop opening (trigger list), and every address you retire stops counting toward the plan.
What Moosend covers
Campaigns are unlimited on paid plans. Automations start from triggers on email, list, profile, date and website activity, or from recipes that include abandoned carts, loyalty sequences and offers driven by the weather at the customer's location (recipes). Website tracking records page visits, product views, carts and purchases through cookies (website tracking). An AI writer, in beta, drafts subject lines and body text (AI writer). Pro includes landing pages, forms and 5 team members; transactional email and a dedicated IP are add-ons on the custom Moosend+ plan (pricing page).
Who it suits
A small online shop or a marketing team with a mid-sized list and a frequent sending rhythm, where a send cap would bite. A business that sends rarely can skip the plan entirely and buy credits, one per email sent to one recipient, which never expire (pricing FAQ). It suits less well a team that needs a CRM, or SMS outside the United States and Australia, which the homepage offers through Constant Contact rather than Moosend.
What it costs

| Subscribers | Monthly | Biannual, per month | Annual, per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $16 | $14 | $13 |
| 5,000 | $48 | $41 | $38 |
| 10,000 | $88 | $75 | $70 |
| 50,000 | $315 | $268 | $252 |
| 100,000 | $624 | $530 | $499 |
A 30-day free trial needs no card and allows unlimited sends to up to 1,000 contacts. Nonprofits get 25% off, on top of the 20% annual discount. The pricing page opens on annual billing, the cheapest-looking view, and a downgrade only takes effect at the end of the current cycle, so on an annual plan a shrinking list keeps costing the old price for up to a year (pricing FAQ).
How it compares
Mailchimp caps monthly sends at 10 to 15 times your contacts and charges $100 a month for Standard at 2,501 to 5,000 contacts (Mailchimp pricing), against Moosend's $48 for 5,000 with no cap. Mailchimp earns the difference only if you need its wider set of store and app integrations.
MailerLite costs $49 a month for 5,000 subscribers on Comfort, with 50,000 sends, or $69 on Power with no limit (MailerLite pricing). It adds paid newsletters and an MCP server; Moosend's edge is website tracking and shop recipes.
Getting started
The quickest win in a migrated list is the people who stopped reading. How to use Moosend builds the re-engagement automation that finds them, gives them one chance, and retires the rest.
FAQ
Does Moosend have a free plan?
No. It has a 30-day free trial without a card, then a plan or credits, per the FAQ on the pricing page.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits bought for occasional sending never expire, and Moosend sends a notification when 80% are used (pricing FAQ).
Do automation emails use credits?
Only on credits, where every triggered email deducts one; a monthly plan leaves credits alone, per the billing FAQ.
