What Is SE Ranking? Rank Tracking, Audits and AI Search
By Joris van Huët · SE Ranking's own site
The short answer: if you want one login for rank tracking, site audits, backlinks and AI search visibility across up to 10 sites, SE Ranking's Core plan covers it for $129 a month billed monthly, or $103.20 a month billed annually, with 2,000 keywords tracked daily, per the SE Ranking pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. A single-site owner who only needs keyword ideas will pay for a lot of unused platform.

Price the plan before the trial ends:
- Monthly against annual. A year of Core costs 12 x $129 = $1,548 monthly or 12 x $103.20 = $1,238.40 annually, a gap of $309.60, using the pricing page. Payments are non-refundable, its FAQ says, so the cheaper rate is also the bigger commitment.
- Bring the tool you have. Built-in import moves projects and keyword ranking history across, and assisted migration is free on annual plans, per the same pricing FAQ.
- Count logins, not people. One session per login can be active at a time, so each regular user needs a seat: Core includes 1 and Growth 3, on the pricing page.
What it covers
A project in SE Ranking tracks one website: its rankings on Google desktop and mobile, Bing and Yahoo, plus prompts in AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT and Gemini, with up to 20 competitors, according to the project guide. Around it sit a website audit, backlink and keyword research, Search Console, Analytics and Matomo connections, and reporting.
The homepage claims 5.5 billion keywords across 188 country databases. A hosted MCP server with more than 180 tools lets AI assistants query it, on the API credits each plan includes.
Who it suits
Marketing teams and agencies that report on several sites and want rankings, audit and AI visibility in one place. Growth adds full project history, guest links and page change monitoring, per the pricing page.

Add-ons on the same page, checked on 24 October 2026: AI Search at $89 a month billed monthly, and the Agency Pack for white-label reporting at $69 a month, annual only. The headline plan is the entry ticket and add-ons are how the bill grows, so list yours before comparing Core with anything. The 14-day trial needs no card and tracks 750 keywords a day.
How it compares
- Semrush charges $139 a month billed monthly for its entry SEO plan with 5 websites and 500 tracked keywords, on the Semrush pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. SE Ranking tracks more per dollar; Semrush brings the wider research kit.
- Ahrefs Lite is $129 a month, the same as Core, but tracks 750 keywords for one user, per the Ahrefs pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. Its pull is link and crawl data.
- Nightwatch sells rank tracking by keyword count with unlimited seats, from €79 a month billed yearly for 500 keywords, on the Nightwatch pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. It fits a team where seats, not keywords, drive the cost.
