What Is All in One SEO? The WordPress SEO Plugin Explained
By Joris van Huët · All in One SEO's own site
The short answer: if your site runs on self-hosted WordPress and nobody has set its titles, sitemaps and schema on purpose, All in One SEO (AIOSEO) does that from inside the dashboard, starting with a free Lite version. Paid plans start at $49.50 for the first year of Basic and renew at $99 a year, per the AIOSEO pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Price it over two years, not one:
- Add the renewal. Pro is $179.55 for the first year on the pricing page and renews at its normal $399, so two years cost $179.55 + $399 = $578.55. The page says all renewals are at full price.
- Start with what is installed. Lite runs on the site you already have, and upgrading later migrates all settings into Pro automatically, per the upgrade guide.
- Keep measurement outside the plugin. Search Statistics and keyword rank tracking are Elite only, the pricing FAQ says. Google Search Console shows the same clicks and positions for free.
What AIOSEO does
It is a WordPress plugin from Semper Plugins, LLC. A setup wizard configures the essentials in under 10 minutes: site type, homepage title and description, person or organisation details for schema, features such as sitemaps, and whether the site is live or under construction. After that, TruSEO scores each post in the editor, the SEO Checklist lists remaining tasks by priority, and the plugin generates XML sitemaps on request, 1,000 URLs per sitemap page, per the sitemap guide.
Paid tiers add Local SEO from Plus, the internal Link Assistant and advanced redirects from Pro, and Search Statistics from Elite. Each paid plan includes AI credits for its AI tools, but the AI Writing Assistant needs a separate paid SEOBoost subscription. A built-in MCP server lets Claude, Cursor or Gemini read and update SEO fields; Lite gets 13 abilities and Pro doubles that.
Who it suits
Marketing teams and owners of WordPress sites, especially WooCommerce shops and local businesses, who want SEO settings managed where the content lives. It needs self-hosted WordPress, the pricing FAQ says, so it does nothing for Webflow, Shopify or a hosted site builder. It is a plugin, not a keyword research suite.
Plans
First-year and renewal prices, per year, from the pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026:
| Plan | Sites | First year | Renews at | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | 1 | Free | Free | Core SEO, MCP with 13 abilities |
| Basic | 1 | $49.50 | $99 | Schema, sitemaps, WooCommerce SEO |
| Plus | 3 | $99.50 | $199 | Local SEO, author SEO |
| Pro | 10 | $179.55 | $399 | Link Assistant, redirects |
| Elite | 100 | $239.60 | $599 | Search Statistics, rank tracking |
A 14-day money-back guarantee applies. The first-year price, with a countdown beside it, is there to win the sale; the renewal is the price you live with, so budget on that.
How it compares
- Rank Math sells PRO for €7.99 a month billed annually for unlimited personal sites, renewing at €8.99, on its pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. Site count decides it: Rank Math prices unlimited personal sites at one rate, AIOSEO by the number of sites.
- Yoast SEO Premium costs $9.90 a month billed annually at $118.80 for one site, on the Yoast page, checked on 24 October 2026, with extra Google Docs seats sold separately.
- SEOPress PRO is $49 a year for one site and renews at the same price, per the SEOPress pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026, which removes the renewal jump.
