The short answer: for one site whose writers draft in Google Docs, Yoast SEO Premium at $9.90 a month billed annually includes AI drafting and one Docs seat (Yoast SEO Premium). For three local business sites, All in One SEO (AIOSEO) Plus covers all three with Local SEO at $8.29 a month billed annually in year one and $16.58 after that (AIOSEO pricing), where three Yoast licences come to 3 x $9.90 = $29.70 a month before Yoast's bulk discount. All prices were checked on 24 October 2026.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
Yoast changes what one licence includes. AIOSEO changes how many sites one licence reaches. On WordPress.org, Yoast SEO lists 10+ million active installations and AIOSEO 2+ million (Yoast SEO, AIOSEO), which says the free versions are both widely used and nothing about which one fits your team.
Red flags before you buy:
- A price quoted for one site when you run three. Yoast Premium is one site or domain per subscription (Premium page), so three sites are 3 x $118.80 = $356.40 a year before the bulk discount at checkout. AIOSEO Plus covers three sites for 12 x $8.29 = $99.48 in year one (AIOSEO pricing), and its full $16.58 a month after that is still below three Yoast licences.
- Paying to re-enter data you already have. AIOSEO's importer reads Yoast SEO and Yoast SEO Premium (AIOSEO on WordPress.org), and Yoast's own import and export tools move data the other way (Yoast SEO on WordPress.org). The free bulk editor in Yoast also shows every title and description that is missing, before any money changes hands.
- No plan for how you will read results. Neither Yoast plan lists rank tracking on its product page; AIOSEO keeps rank tracking for Elite (AIOSEO pricing). If rankings matter, Search Console is the free source to set up on day one, whichever plugin you choose.

The deciding differences
What one licence reaches
Yoast sells one site per subscription and tells agencies with 100 or more client sites to ask for custom licensing (Premium page). AIOSEO sells tiers by site count: one, three, ten or a hundred, with client sites allowed either on a multi-site licence or on one bought for each client, its FAQ says (AIOSEO pricing). A business with one website will not notice. A franchise with a site per location will notice on every renewal.
Drafting with AI, and who signs off
Yoast's AI comes inside Premium with no separate subscription: it drafts titles and descriptions, suggests keyphrase placement, writes summaries and starter drafts, and nothing saves until a person approves it (Yoast SEO on WordPress.org). AIOSEO gives each paid plan an allowance of AI credits, 25,000 on Plus, and reserves the full AI Writing Assistant for a paid SEOBoost subscription (AIOSEO pricing). For metadata both are covered. For longer drafts, Yoast's starter drafts come with the licence, while AIOSEO's Writing Assistant is a separate purchase.
Content written outside WordPress
Yoast's Google Docs add-on lets writers and freelancers produce optimised drafts without a WordPress account, and exports them ready for WordPress (Yoast shop). AIOSEO's pricing page lists nothing equivalent. A content team that works in Docs and hands over to an editor gets a shorter path with Yoast.
Price check, 24 October 2026
Yoast, per site, billed annually, excluding VAT: Premium $9.90 a month ($118.80 a year), WooCommerce SEO $14.90 a month ($178.80), AI+ $29.90 a month ($358.80), extra Google Docs seats $5 a month each (Yoast shop).
AIOSEO, billed annually, USD, first year then full price: Basic $4.13 then $8.25 a month for one site; Plus $8.29 then $16.58 for three; Pro $14.96 then $33.25 for ten; Elite $19.97 then $49.92 for 100 (AIOSEO pricing).
AI drafting the missing metadata, with a reviewer
The job: a site with hundreds of older posts and no meta descriptions on most of them. In Yoast Premium, filter for the pages missing titles or descriptions, let the AI draft them in bulk, social titles included, then approve in batches; the Premium page says nothing saves until it has been reviewed (Yoast SEO Premium). Give the review to the person who knows the products, not the person who ran the filter. Read twenty drafts before approving two hundred, and correct the brand terms the model gets wrong in those twenty first. On AIOSEO the same job runs through an assistant connected to its MCP server, which the guide says can find posts missing SEO fields and update them (AIOSEO MCP guide).
Yoast's product page quotes the price of one site and leaves the count to checkout, where bulk discounts apply (Yoast SEO Premium). A licence sold per site earns more with every site you add. Price the third site before you buy the first.
Choose All in One SEO if
- Your job is running several sites, for locations, brands or clients, under one licence.
- Local SEO for three sites matters more than AI drafting.
- You want an assistant connected through a built-in MCP server on the free version.
Choose Yoast SEO if
- Your job is one site with a steady flow of content, drafted in Google Docs.
- You want AI drafting inside the licence, with nothing to top up.
- Your writers are not WordPress users and should not need to become them.

FAQ
Does Yoast SEO Premium include Local SEO?
Yes. Since July 2025, Premium includes the Local SEO, Video SEO and News SEO plugins that Yoast used to sell separately (Yoast pricing update).
Can AIOSEO import my Yoast settings?
Yes. Yoast SEO and Yoast SEO Premium are both listed import sources, alongside Rank Math and SEOPress (AIOSEO on WordPress.org).
How do the two handle refunds?
Yoast refunds within 30 days of the first purchase, not on renewals or monthly subscriptions (Yoast refund policy). AIOSEO offers a 14-day money-back guarantee (AIOSEO pricing).
