The short answer: if every WordPress site you run belongs to your own company, Rank Math PRO covers all of them on one licence at €7.99 a month billed annually, excluding VAT, with 500 tracked keywords included, per the Rank Math pricing page. All in One SEO (AIOSEO) counts sites instead: Basic is one site at $4.13 a month billed annually and Pro is ten at $14.96, first-year prices on the AIOSEO pricing page, both checked on 24 October 2026. Choose AIOSEO if your job is internal linking and redirects across a handful of sites; choose Rank Math if your job is schema and rank tracking across sites your company owns.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

The core work is the same in both. Titles, sitemaps, schema and an editor score look alike on paper, so the decision moves to three places: the licence logic, where rank data lives, and how AI is billed.

What decides it:

  1. Two years for three sites, each in its own currency. Rank Math PRO is 12 x €7.99 = €95.88 in year one and €107.88 at renewal, the figure its pricing FAQ gives, so €203.76 over two years (Rank Math pricing). AIOSEO Plus, three sites, is 12 x $8.29 = $99.48 in year one, then its normal $16.58 a month, 12 x $16.58 = $198.96, so $298.44 over two years (AIOSEO pricing). The AIOSEO page states that all renewals are at full price.
  2. Start from the plugin already installed. Rank Math's setup wizard imports AIOSEO data (setup guide), and AIOSEO's importer reads Rank Math titles, descriptions and settings (AIOSEO on WordPress.org). Try either free version on a staging copy first and compare five pages in View Page Source before you pay for anything.
  3. Decide where positions get measured. Rank Math PRO includes a 500-keyword tracker; AIOSEO keeps rank tracking and Search Statistics for Elite, its FAQ says (AIOSEO pricing). Below Elite, Google Search Console is the free record of clicks and positions, and the baseline either plugin's numbers should match.

Where they part ways

Count of sites, or who owns them

AIOSEO asks how many sites. Rank Math asks whose sites they are. Its FAQ says PRO supports personal websites you own 100%, and that client sites, or businesses where you are a partner, belong on Business: €24.99 a month billed annually for 100 client sites, renewing at €27.99 (Rank Math pricing). So an agency with eight client sites weighs AIOSEO Pro, ten sites at $14.96 a month in year one (AIOSEO pricing), against Rank Math Business, never against PRO. A company with four brand sites of its own is the other case, and there PRO is the cheaper door.

Positions inside the dashboard

Rank Math puts a keyword rank tracker in every paid plan, with position history for keywords and posts in its feature table (pricing). AIOSEO reserves keyword rank tracking, Search Statistics and content decay tracking for Elite, $19.97 a month billed annually in year one for up to 100 sites (AIOSEO pricing). If rankings inside WordPress matter, Rank Math gets you there for less. If Search Console or a separate tracker already does that job, the gap disappears.

AI: credits in the plan, or a second subscription

AIOSEO's paid plans carry AI credits, from 10,000 on Basic to 200,000 on Elite, but a footnote says the AI Writing Assistant requires a paid SEOBoost subscription (AIOSEO pricing). Rank Math sells its AI as its own product: Starter is €5.99 a month billed annually, renewing at €6.99, with 15 long-form articles and 500 SEO fixes a month (Rank Math AI pricing). For metadata and small rewrites both cover the ground. Full articles cost extra on either side.

All billed annually. AIOSEO in USD from its pricing page, Rank Math in euros excluding VAT from its pricing page, checked on 24 October 2026. Both free plugins sit below these tiers.

An agent on the free versions

Neither plugin makes you pay before an AI assistant can work on your SEO fields. AIOSEO's MCP server gives Lite 13 abilities across posts, settings, notifications, robots.txt and site audits. It needs WordPress 6.9 or newer, AIOSEO 4.9.8 or newer and the free MCP Adapter plugin, which AIOSEO installs in one click, and the assistant signs in with a WordPress Application Password (AIOSEO MCP guide). Rank Math's MCP tools use the same adapter and include a site-wide audit, a post-level SEO analysis and a link report (Rank Math MCP tools).

One job, run this way: ask the assistant to find every post with no meta description and draft one for each, as a list in the chat. A person rewrites the weak ones, and only then does the assistant write them to the site. My recommendation: give the assistant its own Application Password, so revoking it from your WordPress profile ends that access and nobody else's.

Rank Math's pricing page also carries a table that prices it against Yoast, AIOSEO and SEOPress at 1, 3, 10 and 100 sites, with its own column cheapest in every row and a note dating it to 3 June 2026 (Rank Math pricing). The table was drawn by the side that wins it. Rebuild it with your own site count and today's AIOSEO page before you rely on a single cell.

Choose All in One SEO if

  • Your job is linking and redirecting across up to ten sites: Pro adds the Internal Link Assistant and advanced redirects, per the AIOSEO pricing page.
  • You run local business sites, since Local SEO starts on Plus.
  • You want the MCP connection set up from the plugin's own screen, with ready configuration for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor and VS Code.

Choose Rank Math if

  • Every site belongs to your company, so one PRO licence reaches all of them.
  • You want positions tracked inside WordPress without buying the top tier.
  • You write with AI often enough to justify a subscription priced apart from the plugin.

FAQ

Can I move from AIOSEO to Rank Math without losing my titles?

Rank Math's setup wizard has an import step that reads AIOSEO data, and the same import runs later from Status & Tools if you skip it (setup guide).

Does Rank Math PRO cover client websites?

No. The FAQ on the Rank Math pricing page limits PRO to personal sites you own outright and points client work to Business or Agency.

Which one tracks keyword rankings for less?

Rank Math: 500 keywords come with PRO at €7.99 a month billed annually, while AIOSEO lists rank tracking only on Elite at $19.97 a month billed annually in year one, on the Rank Math and AIOSEO pricing pages, checked on 24 October 2026.
