The short answer: you are not misreading Seamless.AI's pricing link: on 26 October 2026 it opened an inquiry form offering "special pricing", with no figures, while Apollo.io sells a Basic seat at $65 a month that you can cancel month to month, per the Seamless.AI pricing page and the Apollo pricing page. For a team of two or three that wants to start this month and keep the right to stop, Apollo.io is the safer first step. Seamless.AI fits a calling team that researches contacts all day under a contract, because one of its credits returns the emails and the phone numbers together.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Before the first demo:

  1. Build the number a quote has to beat. For example, 1,000 contacts a month with an email and a phone each cost 1,000 x (1 + 8) = 9,000 Apollo credits, which four Basic seats cover with 4 x 2,500 = 10,000 credits for 4 x $65 = $260, per the Apollo pricing page. In Seamless.AI the same 1,000 contacts use 1,000 credits, a tenth of one Pro license's 10,000 a month, per its credit article. The quote decides which is cheaper.
  2. Put the exit date in the calendar first. Seamless.AI asks an owner or admin to submit a form and meet the Customer Success Representative at least 60 days before renewal, per its account article. For example, a contract renewing on 1 December 2027 needs that request in by 2 October 2027.
  3. Log bounces and wrong numbers by source. Seamless.AI's refund covers emails its own check finds invalid and excludes phone numbers, per the Credit Back article. Keep your own tally per tool for the first 200 sends and 50 dials.

Seamless.AI sells contact research as a contract: you search, a credit unlocks the person, and the license sets how many credits arrive each month. Apollo.io sells the same job off a price list, a seat at a time, with sequences and a dialer in the login.

Three differences that settle it

The way out

This is the Apollo.io fact that matters for this pair. Its pricing FAQ describes monthly billing as pay month to month and cancel anytime, with a cancellation taking effect at the end of the current term, per the Apollo pricing page. Seamless.AI's contract renews by default, and stopping that takes a written request and a meeting two months ahead. For a team that has not yet proved outbound works, the right to leave is worth more than any feature on either list.

What a phone number costs

Seamless.AI's credit article charges 1 credit to research a contact and fills in titles, emails and phone numbers in that one charge. Apollo charges 1 credit for an email and 8 for a phone, per its pricing page. A desk that dials most of the people it researches gets more numbers per credit from Seamless.AI. Whether it gets more per dollar depends on a price only the quote shows.

Live search or a kept record

Seamless.AI describes itself as a real-time search engine that looks a person up when you ask, per its homepage. Apollo describes a database built from four inputs, refreshed whenever it captures a signal such as a job change, with monthly checks across the whole set, per its data overview. Both are claims about freshness. A test on people whose details you already know settles them.

One agent step: a draft that waits for you

Seamless.AI's MCP page connects Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to mcp.seamless.ai/mcp with a single sign-in, scoped to your license, and shows its own example prompt: find VPs of Sales at a named company in Texas, verify their emails, and draft a meeting request for approval. The draft then sits "awaiting your approval before send". Keep it that way. The rep who owns the account reads each draft against the CRM history, deletes any line the research cannot support, and only then approves the send.

The prices you can see

Checked on 26 October 2026. Apollo.io publishes per-seat prices: Free at $0 with 900 credits a year granted monthly; Basic at $65 billed monthly or $49 billed annually; Professional at $99 or $79, each with credits pooled across the team, per its pricing page. Seamless.AI publishes allowances but no prices: Free 50 credits once, Basic 250 credits a month, Pro 10,000 credits a month, or a bulk pool bought at the start of a contract, per its credit article, and its pricing page asks for a form.

Seamless.AI's renewal clause asks for a form and a meeting at least 60 days ahead, per its account article, so the default is that the contract rolls on, and the conversation about leaving happens on the vendor's calendar.

Test both for nothing

Spend the free credits on people you can check. Take 25 contacts from your CRM whose email and direct dial you already know to be right. Run them through Seamless.AI's 50 free credits, which do not replenish, and Apollo.io's Free plan, which gives 75 a month, per the Seamless.AI credit article and the Apollo pricing page. Count exact matches per tool. Then decide whether a sales call is worth booking.

Choose Seamless.AI if

  • Your job is running a research and calling desk that needs phone numbers for most of the people it looks up.
  • You are ready to sign a contract and manage its renewal date.
  • You want credits back automatically when an email fails the vendor's own check.

Choose Apollo.io if

  • Your job is getting a small team prospecting this month on a price you can read and stop.
  • Emails carry most of the outreach and phones are for a selected few.
  • You want sequences and a dialer in the same seat as the data.

Each on its own: the Seamless.AI entry and the Apollo.io entry. For a quoted rival with a published GDPR section, see Apollo.io vs ZoomInfo.
