What Is Reply.io? Sales Engagement With an AI SDR

By Joris van Huët · Reply.io's own site

The short answer: Reply.io is a sales engagement platform that runs email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp steps in conditional sequences, sells B2B contact data inside the app, and offers an AI SDR called Jason as a separate plan. It suits sales teams that want one tool for multichannel outreach and accept pricing per user, scaled by how many new contacts they reach each month.

What Reply.io covers

A sequence can start from a template, from scratch, from an AI prompt (Reply calls it Magic) or from Jason, according to its sequence guide. Steps cover email, calls, SMS, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Zapier triggers, tasks and conditions, and branches can merge or hand contacts to another sequence. New sequences send in plain text by default, which strips HTML, images and tracking links.

The homepage describes the rest: real-time search across 1+ billion B2B contacts, enrichment, a unified inbox, meeting booking, and an MCP connection for AI tools such as Claude or Cursor. Warm-up runs through MailToaster, and new mailboxes get a ramp-up mode that starts at 10 emails a day and adds 3 a day until it reaches 100, per Reply's ramp-up article.

Teams it suits, and teams it does not

It suits teams that need several channels in one place, and larger teams on volume: from 10,000 active contacts a month the Email Volume plan stops charging per user, per the pricing page. CRM integrations cover Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Copper and Close.

It suits less well a small, email-only team on a tight budget, because the low tiers are billed per user and LinkedIn or calling on Email Volume are paid add-ons. The AI SDR is a separate commitment, from $500 a month on annual billing.

A database that size makes the legal question sharper. The European Commission's answer on marketing with data received from a third party says the data's source must be able to prove it may be used for advertising, and that the person must be told, at the latest in the first message, that their data was collected and will be used to send adverts. Email adds the ePrivacy rules, which vary by country.

Prices by plan

FAQ

What counts as an active contact?

A unique person who receives a first-step email from you in a month. Follow-ups to them are unlimited, per the pricing FAQ.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. It lasts 14 days with the Email Volume features, two mailboxes, 300 active contacts and up to 50 credits, and LinkedIn can be bought as an add-on during it, according to the trial article.

How is ramp-up different from warm-up?

Warm-up runs outside Reply, through MailToaster, and builds reputation with simulated exchanges. Ramp-up runs inside Reply and raises a mailbox's real sending volume step by step. The ramp-up article recommends keeping warm-up on for as long as you send cold email.
