The short answer: if the job is a marketing site that editors will keep updating, 10Web's AI Starter builds it on WordPress and hosts it for $20 a month, or $10 billed annually, with 100 AI credits a month (10Web pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). If the job is an app, a customer portal, a calculator with logins or a prototype your developers will take over, Lovable Pro costs $25 a month, or $21 billed annually, for 100 monthly credits, and syncs the code to your own repository (Lovable pricing). Choose 10Web if your job is a website. Choose Lovable if your job is software.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Both start from a prompt, and both now say they build apps. 10Web's homepage promises websites, stores and apps on a real backend, and answers the technical question plainly: every build runs on WordPress, hosted on Google Cloud, with the features it needs built as plugins (homepage). Lovable describes itself as a full-stack AI development platform that generates frontend, backend, database, authentication and integrations, all backed by editable code (Lovable docs). The deciding question is what you want to own when the prompting stops: a WordPress install, or a codebase.

Decide on paper first:

  1. What a credit buys. For example, Lovable's pricing FAQ prices "Build me a landing page, use images" at 1.70 credits, so Pro's 100 monthly credits cover 100 / 1.70 = 58.8 such requests, plus a daily grant of 5 build credits (Lovable pricing). 10Web's pricing page lists its allowance, 100, 200 or 300 credits a month, but not a cost per action (10Web pricing).
  2. Who maintains it after launch. A marketer who knows the WordPress admin can run a 10Web site. A Lovable app is maintained by chat, a visual editor or a developer in the synced repository (Git sync). Name the person before you build.
  3. What already exists. 10Web starts from your old site, a Figma file or a Google profile, per its homepage; Lovable imports Figma designs and connects to tools through connectors (homepage, Lovable Figma docs).
  4. The one action the build exists for. A form completed, a booking made, a quote calculated. Count it from week one, because neither builder's preview tells you whether visitors do it.

The differences that matter

A site to edit, or an app to extend

10Web hands you WordPress, so the next fifty pages, the blog and the SEO fields live where a marketing team already knows its way around, and any of the 60,000+ WordPress plugins can join them (homepage). Lovable hands you an application with a built-in backend: database, authentication, storage and edge functions (built-in backend). A page with a form is a website. A tool where users sign in and see their own data is software, and that is Lovable's ground.

How each meters the work

10Web meters by plan: one website, 100 credits and 10K visitors on AI Starter, up to four websites and 50K visitors on the top business plan at $45 a month (pricing). Lovable meters one shared pool. Plans are priced by credits, not seats, so inviting people costs nothing until they spend; running the app draws on monthly grants first and the credit balance after (Lovable pricing).

Leaving

Lovable writes that you are never locked in and lists what a full move takes: your own CI/CD, hosting, database, authentication, secrets and AI provider accounts (ownership guide). A 10Web site leaves as a WordPress site, through the SFTP and SSH access every plan lists and the database access on its hosting page (pricing, hosting). Both exits are real. The WordPress one asks less of whoever inherits it.

A plan to approve before Lovable writes code

Lovable's Plan mode investigates the project and writes a plan you review, edit and approve, and it never modifies code. Each Plan mode message costs one credit plus any subagent research.

  1. In the project chat, open the mode picker and choose Plan.
  2. Describe the change in full, for example a pricing page with three tiers and a contact form whose submissions are stored and emailed to sales.
  3. Read the plan in the Plan view: which pages change, which fields are stored, and who can read them.
  4. The human check: the marketer who owns the page and whoever owns customer data both read the plan, cut what was not asked for, and approve it. Only then does Lovable switch to Build mode, billed separately as build work.

10Web runs a similar order inside its editor, where a suite of agents plans and builds each change you ask for (homepage).

The free route

Both let you build before paying: 10Web on its own link, Lovable with five build credits a day (10Web homepage, Lovable pricing). Give each the same brief and three pages, and judge the second round of changes, where the costs of each approach show.

Lovable's FAQ is plain about expiry: daily build credits end with the day, monthly plan credits expire two months after they are issued, and credits are not refundable (Lovable pricing). A prepaid allowance earns the seller its full price whether or not the work happens, which is how any credit plan is priced. Size the plan on a quiet month and buy a top-up in a busy one.

Choose 10Web if your job is

  • A marketing or small business website that non-developers will edit for years.
  • Rebuilding an existing site from its URL or a Figma file onto WordPress.
  • One subscription for builder, hosting, backups and a free first-year domain.

Choose Lovable if your job is

  • An app with sign-ins, stored data or dashboards, built before you hire developers.
  • A prototype that developers will continue in a repository they own.
  • A team workspace where many people build from one credit pool.

On 10Web: its entry, how to use 10Web and 10Web vs Hostinger. Lovable has no entry on this site.

If the request behind the question is an internal tool or an agent that does marketing work, rather than a page, that is the agentic marketing work I sell, and it starts with what the agent should be allowed to change.

FAQ

Can Lovable build a normal marketing website?

Yes. Its pricing FAQ uses a landing page with images as an example request, and paid plans add custom domains (Lovable pricing, custom domain docs). For a site that editors maintain for years, the WordPress admin of a 10Web build is the more familiar tool.

Can 10Web build an app?

Its homepage says it builds booking systems, CRMs, portals and dashboards, on a WordPress backend with the features built as plugins (homepage). Lovable produces a separate codebase instead.

Who owns the code?

On Lovable, you do: the FAQ says you own the code, the apps and the customer data stored in Lovable (pricing FAQ). A 10Web site is WordPress, licensed under the GPLv2 (WordPress about page), with full code access on 10Web's plans, per its homepage.
