How to Use AdCreative.ai to Make Static Ad Variations

The short answer: if you want to test one change at a time on static ads, AdCreative.ai's Starter plan covers a round, because credits go only on downloads: four concepts in three sizes use 12 of its 20 monthly credits at $39 a month (pricing FAQ, checked on 26 October 2026), while Creative Scoring AI and the Compliance Checker need Professional. Set up the brand from your website, generate the ad texts first and correct their claims, generate social creatives in your main size, shortlist by the predicted score, run the finalists through the Compliance Checker with a person signing off, convert the finalists to the other sizes, download only those, push them to your ad account's media library, and give each the same budget in one ad set.

A static ad test fails most often before it starts: four versions that differ in five ways, so the result says nothing. This round changes one thing at a time and spends credits only on what you keep. For what AdCreative.ai includes and costs, see the AdCreative.ai glossary entry.
Before you generate:
- Count downloads, not designs. A credit is used only when you download a creative, and generation is unlimited (pricing FAQ). For example, 4 concepts in 3 sizes are 4 x 3 = 12 downloads, 12 of Starter's 20 monthly credits, which at $39 a month is 12 x $1.95 = $23.40 of the fee.
- Gather what the brand setup reads. Your website address, a clean logo file and a two-line brand description. Connected ad accounts let the AI learn from your past ads and let you push creatives straight to the platform (without ad accounts).
- Decide the one variable. Headline, image or call to action: choose one for this round, keep the other two fixed, and write down the metric that will pick the winner.
Step 1: Start the trial with the cancel date in your diary
Sign-up asks for a card, and nothing is charged during the 7-day trial; after that the plan renews unless you cancel (card at sign-up). The same article offers a refund within 7 days of a monthly charge if you forget.
Step 2: Build the brand
Click Brands in the left menu, then Create a Brand. Enter your website and choose Scan My Website, and the tool fills in the name, logo and description; correct anything it got wrong. It picks three colours from the logo. Under Advanced Setup, connect the ad accounts you want, for example Meta, Google, LinkedIn or Pinterest, then click Create Brand (adding a brand). The description matters: the article says it helps the AI understand the brand.
Step 3: Write the ad texts before the images
Click Generate, choose Ad Texts, enter your website and scan it, adjust what the scan found and click Generate. Edit any line with the pencil icon and save, or ask for more options (ad text feature). This is where claims enter the ad, so a person replaces any promise you cannot back with one you can, before it is set in a design.
Step 4: Generate the creatives in your main size
Go to your brand, create a new project and choose social creatives. Select the size, write the text on the image or let the AI write it in the language you choose, pick a stock image or upload your own product photo, and click Generate (social creatives). Hold everything but your chosen variable steady, so that if headlines are the test, every design uses the same image.
Step 5: Shortlist by score, then look
Each generated design carries a Conversion or Engagement Score from 0 to 100, and the highest scores sit at the top (scoring). On Professional and above, Creative Scoring AI takes up to 25 images, shows a heatmap of where attention falls, and lists actions to raise the Performance and Awareness scores (Creative Scoring AI). Use the score to narrow forty designs to eight, then choose four with your own eyes: logo legible, product recognisable, text short enough for a phone.
A score on every design is built to make the choice feel settled inside the tool. It is a forecast from the vendor's model, and your ad account is where forecasts get checked.
Step 6: Run an AI compliance check, then a human one
On Professional and above, the Compliance Checker reads uploaded visuals against platform guidelines and legal requirements, and flags issues such as a discount shown without its terms. Placing the checker on Professional is there to make claim safety a reason to leave Starter. Treat its output as a list of questions for the person who owns your claims, who decides and signs off. AdCreative.ai documents no public API or agent connector on its site, so this round stays inside the app.
Step 7: Convert the finalists to other sizes
Open Projects, select the project, click Convert To and choose the size you need; the app converts the designs automatically (changing sizes). Make the sizes your placements need, usually square, story and landscape.
Step 8: Download only the finalists and push them
In Projects, tick the box under each finalist and download one by one or through the drop-down for the selection (downloading). To send them straight to a platform, select them, click Download at the top right and pick the platform. They land in that ad account's media library; AdCreative.ai does not publish ads, so you build the ads there (pushing creatives).
Step 9: Test them on equal terms
Put the four versions in one ad set with the same budget and audience, and let the metric you chose separate them. Keep the winner, and make the next round's variable the next one on your list.
What the help centre warns about
- Judging blurry previews. Under heavy load previews show at lower quality; the download arrives at full resolution (blurred previews).
- Expecting a launch. Pushed creatives sit in the media library until someone builds the ad.
- Skipping the ad account connection. Without it, the AI cannot learn from your history and nothing can be pushed.
FAQ
Does resizing cost credits?
The pricing FAQ ties credits to downloads, so each size you download uses one (pricing FAQ). The help article on Convert To mentions no charge for the conversion itself (changing sizes).
Can I use my own product photos?
Yes. When generating social creatives you can upload an image from your own library instead of using stock (social creatives).
Which plan do I need for scoring and the compliance check?
Professional, at $249 a month on monthly billing; Starter includes neither (pricing, checked on 26 October 2026).
