The short answer: one webinar can carry four weeks of follow-up on Contrast's Pro plan, €79 a month billed yearly for 100 registrants, which includes Repurpose Ai 20 times and Clip Ai 10 times (Contrast pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). The steps: trim the replay, build HubSpot lists of no-shows and viewers from the registrations tab, draft a newsletter, a blog post and LinkedIn posts from the transcript with Repurpose Ai, have the speaker approve them, cut subtitled clips, then send each piece to the list it was written for.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
The job: the webinar is over, most registrants did not turn up, and the content team has nothing scheduled for November. Contrast already holds the recording, the transcript and the list of who watched what; the work is choosing what to send to whom and keeping a person in charge of the words. For plans and the HubSpot connection, see the Contrast glossary entry.
Before you start:
- HubSpot connected. In Contrast, open Settings > Integrations, click the HubSpot card, then Connect, and accept the permissions for contacts and timeline events (installing the app).
- A recording in Contrast. Live sessions record automatically. An older webinar can be uploaded with the New video button (upload a webinar).
- A four-week plan on one page. For example: week 1, the replay and a summary to no-shows; week 2, a blog post; week 3, two LinkedIn posts with clips; week 4, a newsletter to attendees with the next date.
- The speaker's time. Thirty minutes to approve quotes before anything goes out under their name.
Step 1: Trim the replay
Go to /replays, click the trim button above the video preview, cut the waiting-room minutes and the closing chatter, then click save and exit. The trimmed video becomes the replay automatically (trim webinar).
Step 2: Let the replay page do the first follow-up
The replay appears on the same link as the registration page, which changes to show an on-demand event, and registrants who missed the session are notified through the automatic emails (webinar recording). Read that email before it sends; it is the first touch for most of your audience.
Step 3: Build the HubSpot lists
Open the event, go to the registrations tab and click Create lists with the HubSpot logo. Pick Registration, No-shows, Live viewers, Replay viewers or All viewers; a live or replay viewer is someone who watched more than 1% of the webinar. You can also build lists of people who clicked a CTA, answered a poll or asked a question (1-Click lists). The lists are dynamic, and filters you set in Contrast do not carry over to them.
Step 4: Draft the written pieces with Repurpose Ai
This is the agent step. Repurpose Ai works from the transcript Contrast creates after the session: select the whole text or one section, choose the output, and it writes the piece from that selection. Refine takes an instruction in plain words and returns a new version (repurpose your webinar). The pricing page lists four outputs: blog posts, summaries, newsletters and LinkedIn posts.
Select by section, not the whole hour. A blog post drafted from the 12 minutes on one customer problem reads as an argument; one drafted from the full transcript reads as minutes.
The human check: the marketer edits for voice and cuts anything the speaker did not say, then the speaker approves every quote and every figure against the slides. Nothing generated goes out unread.
Step 5: Cut the clips
Clip Ai picks moments from the webinar, or you select a passage of the transcript and that becomes the clip. Edit the subtitles, names first, then download (repurpose your webinar). Two clips of under a minute are enough for the LinkedIn week.
Step 6: Send each piece to its list
Use the HubSpot lists from Step 3: the summary and replay link to No-shows, the newsletter with the next date to Live viewers, the blog post to everyone. For sales, add the Contrast Engagement Timeline card to the contact view; it shows registration, percentage watched, poll answers, chat messages and CTA clicks (Engagement Timeline).
What Contrast's guides flag
- Chat history. The Engagement Timeline does not include chat data from past events; chat appears for future events only.
- Speaker files. Raw recordings of individual speakers and screenshares cannot be downloaded from a standard replay (repurpose your webinar); local recording is an add-on on the pricing page.
- Test links. A duplicated test event has its own studio link, different from the real event's (test event).
- The free plan. On-demand videos are deleted after 15 days there (pricing FAQ).
Counting the runs, and reading the result
Pro caps Repurpose Ai at 20 uses and Advanced makes it unlimited (pricing), so a habit of regenerating until a draft sounds right is the same habit that walks a team to the quoted plan. Generate once per format and do the rewriting yourself.
To see whether the month worked, read two numbers in HubSpot. The webinar's Marketing Event counts attendees as live plus replay (Marketing Events), so note it on the day of the webinar and again four weeks later. Then check how many contacts on the No-shows list now show replay views. That second number is the follow-up's own result.
FAQ
Does a pre-recorded webinar sync to HubSpot like a live one?
Yes. Contrast says the same data syncs for pre-recorded events as for live ones (pre-recorded webinars).
Will Contrast overwrite contact details in HubSpot?
No. For existing contacts it updates its own properties and leaves the first name, last name and latest conversion source as they are (contact management).
Can sales see what a contact did in the webinar?
Yes, once the Engagement Timeline card is added to the HubSpot contact view; contacts who never registered show an empty list (Engagement Timeline).
