The short answer: for an in-house lead running $40,000 a month of Google Ads across a handful of accounts, Opteo is the cheaper fit at $249 a month for up to 25 accounts and $100,000 of spend (Opteo pricing). Optmyzr costs $349 a month at its $50K tier on monthly billing, or $244 billed annually, and earns the difference when the work spans Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn or Amazon too, or needs rules that run on a schedule (Optmyzr pricing). Both checked on 26 October 2026. Choose Opteo if your job is acting fast on Google Ads recommendations; choose Optmyzr if your job is running your own rules and reports across several ad platforms.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
The two differ in who does the thinking first. Opteo scans Google Ads accounts for statistically significant patterns and proposes Improvements you push live in seconds (Opteo homepage). Optmyzr gives you a larger toolkit, audits, budget pacing, reports and a Rule Engine where you write the conditions, across Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Yahoo, Meta and LinkedIn (Optmyzr trial article).
What decides it:
- Price your own spend band. For example, at $40,000 a month a year of Opteo Professional is 12 x $249 = $2,988 on monthly billing; Optmyzr Essentials at the $50K tier is 12 x $349 = $4,188 monthly or 12 x $244 = $2,928 on annual billing (Opteo pricing, Optmyzr pricing). Opteo's yearly discount is two months off, arranged by email.
- Count the platforms you already run. If every euro of paid search goes through Google Ads, Opteo covers it. If a Microsoft Ads account or Meta campaigns sit beside it, only Optmyzr's plans include those, with Meta and LinkedIn tools on every plan (Optmyzr pricing FAQ).
- Measure the trial on found waste. Both trials last 14 days. Note the wasted search terms and the hours of checking each tool removed in that time; that, not the feature count, is what a subscription buys.

What sets them apart
One platform done quickly, or six done your way
Opteo's whole surface is Google Ads: Improvements, performance monitoring, branded reports and alerts (homepage). For a team whose paid media is Google, that focus is a strength, since nothing on the screen is for a platform you do not use. Optmyzr spreads wider. Its Essentials plan already includes single-account Meta and LinkedIn tools, and Premium adds portfolio dashboards, shopping feed management and cross-platform budget pacing (pricing).
Suggestions or strategies
Opteo proposes the change and you decide whether to push it. Optmyzr's Rule Engine works from conditions you write, and schedules them weekly or monthly on Essentials and daily on Premium; during the trial you can build and run a strategy by hand but not schedule it (trial article). Teams with a playbook want the rules; teams short of time want the suggestions.
What happens when spend grows
Opteo gives 5% leeway above a plan's spend limit, then asks you to unlink accounts or upgrade (Opteo plan limits). Optmyzr includes a buffer, may charge overages above it, and recommends a tier from your trailing 30-day spend (Optmyzr pricing FAQ).

Pushing one Improvement through an AI assistant
Opteo's MCP server connects Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants to your Opteo account, and in ChatGPT Opteo is an official app in the directory (Opteo MCP). The job: Monday's check across five accounts. Ask the assistant which Improvements are waiting, worst account first, and why each one is recommended. Opteo's documentation says the assistant asks you to confirm before it runs anything that changes an account.
That confirmation is the human check, and it should be a real one. The paid search lead reads the reasoning the assistant returns for each Improvement, rejects any that conflict with a promotion or a stock problem the data cannot see, and confirms the rest one by one. On Optmyzr the equivalent runs through its own MCP, which stages new negative keywords in a preview card you can edit before you click Apply (Optmyzr MCP).
Start free, then pay for the gap
Before either trial, open the Recommendations page inside Google Ads on your largest account, which suggests bidding, keyword and ad changes at no cost, and write the list down (Google Ads recommendations); both tools have to beat it. Then use the trials side by side. Optmyzr's needs no card (pricing); Opteo asks for a payment method during sign-up (homepage), so put the end date in the calendar on day one.
Optmyzr's pricing FAQ says that if spend runs over the plan for two months in a row and the overage would cost more than upgrading, Optmyzr may move the account to the next plan itself, with an email seven days ahead (Optmyzr pricing FAQ). The move happens unless you act, so read the spend in the billing settings at each month end and make the tier your own decision.
Choose by the job
Choose Opteo if your job is Google Ads only, across up to 75 accounts, with clear recommendations you can review and push in minutes at a lower price.
Choose Optmyzr if your job is paid media across Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn or Amazon, with your own rules on a schedule and cross-platform budgets and reports.
Both tools act on conversions as Google Ads counts them. Later, if you want a standing check on whether those conversions were caused by the ads at all, a causal attribution tool such as Causality Engine runs it (disclosure: I founded it).
The Optmyzr entry covers its tiers, and how to use Optmyzr works through wasted search spend. Opteo has no entry here; its site is opteo.com.
FAQ
Does Opteo work with Microsoft Ads?
Opteo's homepage and pricing page describe a Google Ads tool and name no other ad platform (Opteo homepage, pricing).
Is Optmyzr's MCP on every paid plan?
Its MCP page says it is available on all paid plans, while the pricing page lists the MCP connection among Premium's additions (Optmyzr MCP, pricing). Ask which applies before buying Essentials for it.
Will my clients see Opteo in their accounts?
They are not notified. Changes made through Opteo appear in Google Ads change history under the email address of your MCC (Opteo pricing FAQ, checked on 26 October 2026).
