How to Use OpusClip to Turn a Webinar Into a Month of Clips

The short answer: set up a brand template and a brand vocabulary, submit the webinar with the ClipAnything model and a plain-language prompt, process only the minutes that matter, fix the clips the editor flags, schedule them across four weeks in the calendar, let Claude draft the captions through the OpusClip connector while you confirm every post inside OpusClip, and compare views per post with last month.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

A 50-minute webinar holds a month of social posts. Finding them means watching it again, and the person who should do that is usually the one who ran it, with no time left. OpusClip does the watching. For plans and credits, see the OpusClip glossary entry.

Three things to sort before you upload:

  • The channel decides the plan. Starter, $15 a month, posts to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram; LinkedIn, X, Facebook and the scheduler start on Pro, $29 a month on monthly billing (plans article, prices checked on 24 October 2026 on the pricing page).
  • The account that owns the YouTube channel. OpusClip can only connect a channel through the Google account that owns it; a manager of a brand account cannot connect it (YouTube connection article).
  • A list of names. Speakers, products and the company name, for step 2.

1. Build the brand template

Click Brand Template in the left panel, as the brand template article describes. Set the aspect ratio to 9:16, pick the layouts your webinar uses, Split for a host and a guest for instance, and turn on Pin first speaker if whoever speaks first should keep the top slot. Style the captions and the keyword highlighter in your colours, place a logo as a PNG overlay, and add an intro or outro of up to 1 minute and 200 MB. Click Save template. Pro holds two templates.

2. Teach it your proper nouns

Go to Asset Library, then Brand Vocabulary, click Add proper nouns, type each term, press Enter and click Add to Brand Vocabulary (brand vocabulary article). It applies to new clips only; anything clipped earlier has to be reprocessed.

3. Submit the webinar with a prompt

Drop in the link or upload the file, choose ClipAnything under Clip model, set the genre if you like, and type what you want found, following How to use ClipAnything. For a webinar, something like: find the moments where the speaker answers a question from the audience. Pick a caption style from Quick Presets and the brand template from step 1. Save these settings as your default, and the next webinar takes one click.

4. Pay only for the minutes that matter

Processing costs 1 credit per minute of the source, with partial minutes rounded down, per the credits article. Use the processing timeframe to drop the welcome and the housekeeping: for example, a 55-minute recording with 6 minutes of both cut costs 55 - 6 = 49 credits. Clip length defaults to Auto, up to 3 minutes; set it shorter for Shorts and Reels in the CoPilot settings (clip length article).

5. Review what comes back

Results arrive sorted by Virality Score. If they miss the point, reprompt from the top of the results page as often as you like (prompt article). In the editor, double-click a misheard word, fix it, click Apply to all and tick Add to brand vocabulary. On the Caption tab you can move a clip's first or last word and cut out a section you do not want (trimming article).

6. Lay the month out in the calendar

Click Calendar in the left navigation, choose a date, then the clips and platforms; OpusClip drafts descriptions and hashtags for each (scheduling article). Two details from the posting FAQ: a schedule saves the clip as it was when you scheduled it, so edit first, and two posts set for the same minute on one account go out a minute apart.

7. Let Claude draft the posts, and confirm each one yourself

Add OpusClip from the Claude connector directory and sign in; tools need Pro Beta, Max or Business access. Then ask: list the clips in my latest project with their transcripts, pick the eight that answer audience questions, write a LinkedIn caption for each, and schedule them for Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 over the next four weeks.

Here the vendor has built the human check in. On this connector, posting, scheduling and sharing do not happen when Claude calls the tool: each request comes back as an approval link, and you open it in OpusClip, check the clip, account, time and caption, and confirm. Credits are spent when you confirm, not before. The separate MCP server at mcp.opus.pro commits the same actions directly, so use the connector for anything public. The API side has a cap of 900 credits a month per workspace and 4 projects at once on Pro Beta (limitations).

8. Download the keepers

Projects do not stay forever: the pricing page lists media storage expiring after 3 days on Free and 29 days on Starter, with fixed cloud storage and auto-saved projects on Pro. Scheduled posts still go out after a project expires, per the posting FAQ, but the editable project does not survive, so export the clips you want to reuse.

What the help centre warns about

  • A YouTube source still processing HD. Clips come out at low resolution; wait until the watch page offers HD (result clips article).
  • Uploading finished clips by hand. The calendar accepts MP4 files under 200 MB; Instagram clips must run 30 to 90 seconds and TikTok uploads need more than 23 frames a second (posting FAQ).
  • Expecting the trial to post. Trial users cannot post or schedule, and exports carry the watermark (trial article).

How to know it worked

Take last month's webinar posts as the baseline: how many went out, the hours it took to cut them and the average views per post. After the month, compare the same three numbers. Then rank the posted clips by views and set that list beside their Virality Scores. If the two orders disagree, trust the views and choose next month's clips yourself.

Do this inside the trial or the first paid month. On the Free plan, clips stop being exportable after 3 days (pricing page), a limit built to make you decide inside those three days. Download what you want on day one, and decide on a plan with a month of views in hand.

FAQ

How many clips will one webinar give?

A 30 to 60 minute video yields 23 to 32 clips, and ClipAnything usually finds slightly more than ClipBasic, per the clip count article.

Can the agent post without me?

Not through the Claude connector: every post returns a link that only you can confirm, and it expires unused. On the MCP server at mcp.opus.pro, the same tools post directly, per the connector article.

What if a clip starts in the middle of a sentence?

Open it in the editor, go to the Caption tab and set an earlier word as the start, as the trimming article shows.
