The short answer: give each account a posting schedule of labelled time slots, upload your images to Publer's Media Library and copy their URLs once they have settled, fill in Publer's CSV template with text, links, media and a label per row while leaving the date empty, import it from Create, Bulk Options, let AutoSchedule drop each post into the next matching slot, and have an agent on the Business plan add drafts that a person reads before they are scheduled.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

Scheduling a month by hand means one decision per post about when it goes out. For example, four accounts posting four times a week for four weeks is 4 x 4 x 4 = 64 decisions. Publer's answer is to decide the timing once, in slots, and let a file and a queue do the rest. For plans and prices, see the Publer glossary entry.

Ready before you build the file:

  • A paid plan. Bulk scheduling is a paid feature on the plans page; five accounts cost $20 a month on Professional with monthly billing (checked on 24 October 2026). The MCP step at the end needs Business.
  • The month's posts in a spreadsheet. One row per post: caption, link if any, the image or video, and a content type.
  • Three or four labels. Product, Tip, Blog, Event, or whatever your pillars are. The labels carry the timing.

Set the slots before the file

1. Build a posting schedule for each account

Go to Social Accounts, pick an account and choose Posting Schedule, as the posting schedule guide describes. Either create time slots one by one, each with a time, a post type, the days it repeats and a label, or use Autofill, which takes a time range, the days and a number of posts and generates the slots. Autofill deletes the existing slots on the days you select, so run it before you hand-tune anything. One schedule can be duplicated to the other accounts.

2. Put the media where the file can reach it

Upload the images and videos to the Media Library, then copy their URLs in bulk: comma-separated for carousels, one per line for single posts. Publer's media hosting guide explains that a fresh upload sits on a temporary address containing /temp/ before it moves to permanent storage, and suggests waiting about 30 minutes before copying.

Fill in the file

3. Use Publer's template, column by column

Download the template from the CSV template guide and keep its column names. The ones that matter for this job:

  • Date: optional. Leave it empty and the label decides the slot.
  • Text: the caption, required for text-only posts. Use Google Sheets rather than Excel if the text has special characters.
  • Link: turns the row into a link post and takes precedence over the media column.
  • Media URLs: the addresses from step 2. Do not mix photos and videos in one post.
  • Labels: must match a labelled slot, or the post has nowhere to go.
  • Alt text: one per image, separated by a double pipe.
  • Comments: follow-up comments or a thread, also separated by a double pipe, text only.
  • Post subtype: Short, Reel, Story or PDF where needed; vertical videos are detected as Shorts or Reels.

Export it as a CSV. One file takes up to 500 posts.

Import and place the posts

4. Upload and load

Go to the Create tab, click Bulk Options, choose Import CSV and drop the file in, per the bulk CSV guide. When processing finishes a notification appears; click it and the posts load, ready to assign to accounts. The notification, and with it the file, expires after 24 hours or when you delete it.

5. AutoSchedule them into the slots

Select the accounts on the left, choose AutoSchedule from the dropdown under a post, pick the label, toggle on Apply to all posts and save, then click Submit, following the AutoSchedule guide. Publer finds the next free slot with that label for each post. Open the calendar afterwards and look for gaps and doubles before the first one goes out.

Let an agent draft the extras

6. Connect the MCP and keep it on drafts

The CSV covers the planned month. The posts that arrive later, a new article or a launch, are where an agent helps. On Business, open Settings, AI & Automations, MCP, choose the OAuth tab, paste https://mcp.publer.com into your AI client's connector settings and approve access, as the MCP guide sets out. If your client needs an API key instead, create one with only the scopes the job needs; Workspaces and Accounts are required, Posts is enough to add.

Ask it for drafts, not schedules: read this week's blog post and create a draft for the company LinkedIn page and the Facebook page, with a different first line for each. The guide's own example prompts include "Show me all my draft posts in Publer so I can review what is pending", and that review is the human check. A person reads each draft in Publer, edits it, and only then AutoSchedules it into a slot.

Where Publer's help centre says it breaks

  • Google Drive links in the file. Google rate-limits the requests, so media from Drive URLs can fail; the upload troubleshooting guide recommends the Media Library instead.
  • A 500-row file and a weak server. The same guide suggests splitting it, for example into five files of 100.
  • Labels with no matching slot. If every slot is labelled and a post carries no label, or the wrong one, AutoSchedule returns "No available time-slots could be located for this account".
  • A Title column on a plan below Business. The template guide warns it can trigger a multi-photo error for Facebook even on single photos.
  • Accounts that only take reminders. Facebook Groups and personal profiles post through push notifications, so they cannot have a posting schedule at all.

Unlimited scheduling is the headline on paid plans, and daily caps per profile sit underneath it, because, in the words of Publer's FAQ, it is trying to build good relationships with the networks and cannot do so by spamming them. Plan the month inside those caps rather than discovering them on day one.

FAQ

How many posts can one CSV hold?

Up to 500, per the bulk CSV guide, though large files with many links or media URLs take longer to process.

Can the file build an X thread?

Yes. Put each part of the thread in the Comments column, separated by a double pipe, and the parts publish in order. Comments added through the CSV are text only.

Do I have to put dates in the file?

No. The date column is optional. With it empty, labels and AutoSchedule place each post, which is the point of building the slots first.
