The short answer: a monthly hunt for website quotes in your customer success calls needs questions across many meetings, and Free and Pro give only a handful of those for the life of the account, so if this becomes a habit, budget for Business at $29 a seat a month on annual billing, per the pricing page checked on 26 October 2026. The steps: collect consent before calls, record them, ask one question across the month's calls, clip each candidate quote, get the customer's written approval, and let an assistant draft the page section through tl;dv's MCP connector while a person checks every word.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

The strongest line on most websites was said once, out loud, on a call nobody went back to. tl;dv's own homepage offers this very prompt to a marketing leader: highlight customer quotes from this month's CS calls that can go on the website. This guide turns that prompt into a monthly routine with a permission step in it. Plans and limits are in the tl;dv entry.

Three checks before you start:

  1. Count your cross-call questions. On Free and Pro, questions across several meetings are capped for the life of the account; the Ask AI article says 10, the pricing page says 5. For example, at two questions a month, 10 run out in 10 / 2 = 5 months, and 5 in under three.
  2. Start from the calls CS already holds. Recorded onboarding, renewal and check-in calls are the raw material; you are not booking new interviews.
  3. Decide the measure. Track candidate quotes found, quotes approved by customers, and quotes published, every month. The middle number is the one that tells you whether the process works.

Step 1: Collect consent before the call

Turn on Consent Collection in settings, grant tl;dv write access to your calendar and switch on automatic recording, per the consent article. tl;dv then swaps the meeting link in the invitation for a consent page: people who accept go into the call and are recorded, and if anyone declines, the meeting is not recorded at all. Choose whether it applies to internal meetings, external meetings or both; for this job, external.

It only covers meetings created after setup and recorded automatically from the calendar. Instant meetings skip the consent page.

Step 2: Record the calls

With automatic recording on, the bot joins scheduled Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls. Where a bot is not welcome, the desktop app records your computer's audio instead, without video, screen or chat, per the bot-free article, and the article tells you to inform participants first.

Step 3: Ask one question across the month

Open the Meetings library, filter to last month's customer calls, and tick Select all. Only the first 24 matching meetings are selected by default, so scroll down, click Load older until all are listed, and select again, as the Ask AI article explains; it handles more than 100 meetings at once.

Write one careful prompt rather than five loose ones, because each counts against the allowance: "List every sentence in which a customer describes a result, a before-and-after, or why they chose [company name]. Quote the customer's exact words, then give the customer's name, the meeting title and the time in the recording. Leave out anything a team member said." The answer is saved in the AI Reports library if it takes a while.

Step 4: Clip the candidates

For each quote worth keeping, open the meeting's transcript, highlight the passage and click Create clip, per the clips article. Clips sit in the Clips tab, and you can glue several into a reel for the team. Anyone with a clip's link can watch it, so share links with care.

Step 5: Get the customer's written approval

Consent to record a call is not consent to publish a quote with someone's name on your website. Send the customer the exact sentence, the name and title you will print, and where it will appear, and publish only after a written yes. Light edits for length go back to them too.

This is the human check the rest of the process depends on, and it is also where the measure in the list above comes from.

Step 6: Let an assistant draft the page section

On Pro or above, connect the tl;dv MCP connector from Claude's or ChatGPT's connector directory and authenticate, as the MCP article describes; Claude needs a paid plan for connectors. tl;dv's own example prompt builds a Voice of the Customer report from 30 days of CS calls, which is close to this job.

Ask it for the approved quotes only, grouped by the result they describe, with two headline options for the customer-stories section. The article's guidance helps here: give a timeframe, name the meetings or teams, and expect about 50 meetings per answer. A person then compares each quote in the draft with the approved wording before the page goes live, because the assistant reads transcripts, not your approval emails.

Step 7: Put the hunt on a schedule

On the AI Reports page, click Create scheduled report, name it, paste the prompt from step 3, filter to meetings with external participants, switch on the preview to confirm the right calls are picked up, then set the cadence, per the reports article. Business allows as many scheduled reports as you like; Free and Pro share the same lifetime allowance of 10. tl;dv meters the most useful marketing feature by lifetime rather than by month, which turns the routine you are building into the reason to move to Business; decide that upgrade on the quotes approved, not on the reports sent.

What the tl;dv guides warn about

  • A declined consent is final. Recording cannot restart for that meeting; you need a new meeting link.
  • Free recordings archive and expire. After 3 days, video moves to archived storage and takes up to an hour and a half to restore, and recordings are deleted after 3 months, per the free plan article.
  • Free clips stay inside tl;dv. Free allows 4 clips, which cannot be downloaded even after upgrading.
  • The connector sees your meetings first. MCP covers meetings you joined unless you ask it to include others, and a meeting whose organiser is not on Pro stays out of reach.

FAQ

Can I do this on the free plan?

Once or twice. Free covers 10 AI prompts and 4 clips for the life of the account, and recordings expire after 3 months, per the free plan article.

Can I put a tl;dv clip on the website?

Clips have a download button, per the clips article, though clips made on the free plan can never be downloaded. A customer's face and voice on your site need the same written approval as their words.

Do customers have to install anything to give consent?

No. They see a consent page when they open the meeting link and choose whether to allow recording, per the consent article.
