Metricool vs Hootsuite: Paid and Organic Reports per Brand

The short answer: if your monthly report has to put Meta, Google and TikTok ads beside organic posts for several brands, Metricool reads all three ad platforms and charges by brand: Advanced is $67 a month on monthly billing for up to 15 brands, with team access, approvals and a Data Studio connector (Metricool pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). Hootsuite reports on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X ads, lists neither Google Ads nor TikTok Ads, and bills $99 per user a month on annual terms before you count brands (Hootsuite plans).

You are not wrong to see these as different sizes of the same thing; both plan, publish, answer messages and report. The split is the report. Metricool is built around a brand with its social profiles and ad accounts in one view. Hootsuite sells seats in a suite where reporting sits beside publishing, customer care and listening, each priced into the same login.
Bring last month's report:
- Price your real setup, people included. For example, two people reporting on three brands with four profiles each: Metricool's team access sits on Advanced, so $67 a month monthly; Hootsuite counts 12 accounts, over Standard's 10, so two Professional seats at 2 x $199 = $398 a month billed annually (Metricool pricing, Hootsuite plans).
- Mark where each line of today's report comes from. Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads Manager, your web analytics, the native apps. A tool that cannot read one of those sources leaves you exporting it by hand every month.
- Choose three numbers to reconcile. Spend, clicks and conversions for one campaign, read in the tool and in the ad platform for the same dates. If they differ, find out why before the report goes to anyone.

What splits them
Which ad accounts sit in the report
Metricool's connection table lists Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads under each brand, including on the free plan (Metricool pricing). Hootsuite's advertising section publishes, manages and reports on campaigns for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X, and auto-boosts top organic posts from Professional (Hootsuite plans). If search ads or TikTok spend are in your budget, only one of these reads them. If LinkedIn ads are, only the other does.
Both import what each platform reports about its own campaigns. Neither pricing page describes removing the overlap when Meta and Google both claim the same sale, so where both do, a total built by adding platform conversions counts that sale twice.
What the price follows
Metricool's price follows brands: 5 or 10 on Starter, 15, 25 or 50 on Advanced, with team members unlimited on Advanced. Hootsuite's follows people, and each seat carries the account limit of its tier. A two-person team running 40 brands pays Metricool $210 a month on monthly billing for up to 50 brands; the same two people pay Hootsuite for two seats, at whatever tier their account count needs (Metricool pricing, Hootsuite plans).
Asking an assistant for the numbers
Metricool's MCP works on every plan, the free one included, and lets Claude, ChatGPT or another client read brands, analytics and the analytics of connected ad accounts, and create or edit scheduled posts (MCP limits and plan requirements). It cannot manage ad campaigns, inbox messages or comments. Metricool's MCP page offers the prompt "How are my Meta Ads and Google Ads campaigns performing this month?" as an example. The useful step: ask it for spend, clicks and conversions per campaign for the report month. Then a person opens Ads Manager and Google Ads, checks those three figures for the same dates, and only then pastes the summary into the report. Hootsuite's Perch MCP can pull 30 days of LinkedIn impressions and engagement into a written summary from chat (Hootsuite MCP page).
Prices for the brand counts people run
Checked on 26 October 2026 on the Metricool pricing page, USD before VAT:
| Brands | Metricool, monthly billing | Metricool, annual billing per month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Free: 20 posts a month, 30 days of data | Free |
| Up to 5 | Starter, $25 | $20 |
| Up to 10 | Starter, $45 | $36 |
| Up to 15 | Advanced, $67 | $53 |
| Up to 25 | Advanced, $107 | $85 |
| Up to 50 | Advanced, $210 | $159 |
Hootsuite, per user a month on annual billing: Standard $99 with 10 accounts, Professional $199 and Advanced $399 with unlimited accounts, per its plans page. X costs $10 a month per connected account as a Metricool add-on on any paid plan.
Choose Metricool if
- Your job is one monthly report per brand with organic, Meta, Google and TikTok ads together.
- You run several brands or clients and want the price to follow brands, not people.
- You want an AI assistant reading your ad numbers on a free plan.
Choose Hootsuite if
- Your job is publishing and customer care at scale, with LinkedIn or X ads in the same suite.
- Listening, trend forecasts and routed inbox work matter as much as the report.
- A fixed number of people do the work, so per-seat pricing stays predictable.
Rebuild one report for free
Metricool's free plan takes one brand, its social profiles and its ad accounts, with 30 days of data and the MCP connection. Rebuild last month's report for your largest brand there, line by line, and reconcile the three numbers from the list above against the ad platforms. If it holds, pay for more brands; if it does not, the free plan has cost nothing.
Metricool's free plan connects every network except LinkedIn and X, and X stays an add-on at $10 per account on the paid plans, so a calendar that runs on LinkedIn starts paying on day one (Metricool pricing). Check which networks your calendar needs before you judge the free plan on its price.
If that reconciliation turns into a standing monthly job, a causal attribution tool such as Causality Engine can run the comparison continuously; disclosure: I founded it.
FAQ
Does Hootsuite report on Google Ads or TikTok ads?
Its plans page lists ad publishing, management and analytics for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X only.
Can Metricool's MCP change an ad campaign?
No. Its plan requirements article says the MCP can query the analytics of connected ad accounts, and that managing ad campaigns is not available through it.
What counts as a brand in Metricool?
A business, brand or customer, holding one profile for each social network or ad platform, per the pricing FAQ. Each Google Business Profile location needs its own brand.
