The short answer: for a store with about 5,000 contacts that wants cart, browse and order flows without paying for a data platform, Omnisend is the lower bill: Standard is $81 a month on monthly billing, and Pro, with unlimited email and SMS from $0.007 a message, is $90 (Omnisend pricing). Klaviyo charges $100 for 5,000 active profiles on its Email plan and sells depth instead: 350 and more integrations, predictive analytics on paid plans and an AI agent called Composer (Klaviyo pricing). At 10,000 contacts Omnisend Pro and Klaviyo meet at $150. Checked on 26 October 2026.

Price it against your own store first:
- Count a heavy month's sends. For example, 5,000 contacts mailed 12 times is 60,000 emails. Omnisend Standard at 5,000 includes 60,000 emails a month and Pro is unlimited; Klaviyo's 5,000-profile tier includes 50,000, and its flexible sending option lends the next tier's capacity for a peak month at your current unit rate (Omnisend pricing, Klaviyo pricing, Klaviyo pricing explainer).
- Split your list before you price it. Export it and count subscribed against unsubscribed or suppressed contacts. Klaviyo bills only the people it can reach (Klaviyo pricing explainer), so a list with many unsubscribes is cheaper there than its raw size suggests.
- Set the test before the move. Hold back a random tenth of new subscribers from the welcome flow for four weeks and compare their orders in the store with everyone else's. That difference, not either dashboard, is what the flow earned.
Plans next to each other
| Item | Omnisend Standard | Omnisend Pro | Klaviyo Email |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly email | 12 times the list size | Unlimited | Send capacity included with each profile tier |
| SMS | Available, without Pro's volume rates | Volume-based rates from $0.007 a message | Separate spend, from $0.01 plus carrier fees per US toll-free SMS |
| Free plan | 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, every feature | Same free plan | 250 active profiles, 500 emails, $5 of texts and $5 of Composer a month |
| Smallest paid tier | $16 a month | $59 a month, up to 2,500 contacts | $20 a month for 500 profiles |
| AI | Omnisend Agent: 2 tools | Omnisend Agent Pro: 5 tools | Composer add-on at $20 a month; MCP server |
| Switching help | Free migration in up to 5 days | Same, plus priority support | Professional Services listed under Talk to Sales |

Three differences that settle it
The price, tier by tier
| Contacts | Omnisend Standard | Omnisend Pro | Klaviyo Email |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $20 | $59 | $30 |
| 2,500 | $44 | $59 | $60 |
| 5,000 | $81 | $90 | $100 |
| 10,000 | $132 | $150 | $150 |
US dollars a month on monthly billing, without Omnisend's three-months-upfront discount, from the Omnisend and Klaviyo pricing pages. Omnisend Standard is the cheaper option at every row; Pro costs the same as Klaviyo at 10,000 and adds unlimited email.
A store tool or a data platform
Omnisend is built from the store outward: its pricing page lists campaigns, automation, segmentation, forms, web push, Facebook custom audiences and Google customer match on every plan, and its footer names Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Wix among supported platforms (Omnisend pricing). Klaviyo is built from the customer profile: a data platform, analytics, a helpdesk, a customer service agent and 350 and more integrations, with predictive analytics and generative AI for segments and flows on paid plans (Klaviyo pricing). A store that sells one catalogue through one channel uses a fraction of that. A brand with a store, an app and a support team uses more of it.
Help when you switch
Omnisend offers a free migration of lists, segments, flows and templates in up to five days, 24/7 support, and a dedicated Account Expert for Standard and Pro customers spending $400 a month or more (Omnisend pricing FAQ). Klaviyo's free plan includes email support for the first 60 days, and its pricing page lists professional services under a separate tab (Klaviyo pricing).
A weekly review from an agent
Klaviyo's Composer, sold as a $20 monthly add-on with $5 of use included on the free plan, can schedule recurring tasks, analyse performance and create campaigns and flows (Klaviyo pricing). Give it one recurring Monday task: summarise last week's revenue by flow and name the three flows whose revenue fell most against the previous four weeks. A person reads the summary, checks one of the three against the store's own order report, and decides what to change; my recommendation is to keep Composer to reports and drafts until those checks have matched for a month. On Omnisend, the agent in the Reports section answers questions about store performance, and most of its features run on every plan, Free included (Omnisend Agent guide).
Before paying either
Both free plans stop at 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, which is enough to connect a test store and build one flow on each (Omnisend pricing, Klaviyo pricing). Build the abandoned cart flow twice, place a test order that abandons the cart, and compare what each email shows. That costs nothing and tells you which builder your team will tolerate.
Omnisend's pricing page opens with a three-months-upfront discount of 30% already switched on, under a headline promising savings of up to 35% against Klaviyo (Omnisend pricing). Both are aimed at the switch, so compare the plain monthly figures in the table above.
Choose Omnisend if your job is
- Running store email and SMS for a Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Wix shop at the lowest monthly bill.
- Sending as often as you like on Pro, with unlimited email.
- Moving from another platform with the migration done for you.
Choose Klaviyo if your job is
- Building segments and flows on a customer profile that pulls from many sources.
- Using predictive analytics, product recommendations and an AI agent in one account.
- Paying only for reachable profiles on a list with many unsubscribes.
