Pabbly Connect vs Make: Flat Task Bills or Per-Module Credits

The short answer: if you run dozens of simple trigger-and-action flows, an agency syncing lead forms into client CRMs for instance, Pabbly Connect is the cheaper meter to run: only action steps use tasks, Standard is $19 a month on monthly billing for 10,000 tasks, and Unlimited removes the task count for $79 a month, checked on 26 October 2026 on Pabbly's pricing section. If your flows reshape data heavily, call an agent that reads knowledge files, or need an app only a larger directory carries, Make fits better, from a Free plan of 1,000 credits a month (Make pricing).
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
What Pabbly Connect changes is the fixed price. Its top plan has no task ceiling, and a one-time lifetime plan sits beside the subscriptions. Make sells capacity in credits and charges each module run against it.
What to check first:
- Run the numbers for your client load. For example, 40 workflows, each a trigger, a filter and two actions, running 250 times a month: Pabbly counts 40 x 250 x 2 = 20,000 tasks, past Standard's 10,000, so Unlimited at $79 a month is the plan that covers it (pricing section). Make counts the trigger and two modules, 40 x 250 x 3 = 30,000 credits (operations guide).
- Check who will build. Pabbly's pricing notes that the team member feature is not available on monthly plans (pricing section). If three colleagues share the account, you are on yearly billing or longer.
- Decide where you will check the result. Pabbly's task history shows each step of a run, and its own guides use it to confirm a test (Human in Loop guide). Make shows operations and credits above each module (operations guide).
Compared on the record
| Pabbly Connect | Make | Source | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What uses the allowance | Action steps on external apps; triggers and internal steps are free | Every module run, trigger checks included | Pabbly, Make operations |
| Free plan | 100 tasks, two-step workflows | 1,000 credits a month | Pabbly, Make pricing |
| How you can pay | Monthly, yearly, 2 or 3 years, or one-time lifetime | Monthly or annual subscription | Pabbly, Make subscriptions |
| Integrations | 2,000+ | 3,000+ native apps | Pabbly, Make pricing |
| A person approves a step | Human in Loop, by email, webhook or another workflow | A step you design, such as a draft sent to Slack | Pabbly guide, Make outreach agent |
| AI clients calling your flows | Pabbly MCP servers run workflow actions from Claude and others | Make MCP server runs on-demand scenarios | Pabbly, Make MCP server |
Three differences
What a task is
Pabbly does not count Filter, Router, Text Formatter, Number Formatter, Schedule, Iterator, Date/Time Formatter, Email Parser, JSON Extractor or Array Functions steps (pricing section). A workflow that spends most of its steps cleaning and routing data costs only its actions. Make counts the modules a run passes through, so the same cleaning work shows up on the bill (credits).
Paying once, and what once buys
Pabbly's lifetime plans are one payment for a monthly task allowance: $349 for 3,000 tasks a month, $799 for 10,000 and $1,298 for 20,000, each listed with one year of customer support (pricing section, checked on 26 October 2026). The software stays; the support window does not. Make's billing is monthly or annual, and on Core even an annual plan allocates credits month by month (subscriptions).
How deep the builder goes
Make's agent works from instructions, knowledge files such as brand guidelines, and tools that can be modules, scenarios or MCP tools (agent intro), and Maia builds or fixes scenarios from a prompt on paid plans (Maia). Pabbly offers an AI Assistant step, routers, iterators and a JavaScript and Python module (Pabbly). For flows of five steps, both are enough. For flows of fifty, the canvas matters.
An AI step, held for approval
The job: a webinar registration arrives from a form. An OpenAI action, one of the integrations Pabbly lists, drafts a follow-up email from the registrant's answers. A Human in Loop step with the Request Approval event then emails the draft to a reviewer (Human in Loop guide), who can approve, reject or edit it before the next action, the send, runs (Pabbly). The reviewer sees the draft before the registrant does. On Make, the documented pattern ends with a draft in Slack for a person to send (outreach agent).
Prices on 26 October 2026
Pabbly Connect, in USD a month, from its pricing section, checked on 26 October 2026:
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | 2 years | 3 years | Tasks a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | 100 |
| Standard | $19 | $16 | $15 | $14 | 10,000 |
| Unlimited | $79 | $69 | $65 | $59 | No limit |
Make's paid plan prices load behind a security check and could not be read from its pricing page that day, so no figures appear here. The text that does load confirms the Free plan's 1,000 credits and that annual prepayment costs less than monthly payment.
Pabbly's homepage compares itself with rivals and concludes that a workflow Pabbly runs for 1 task costs 3 on Make and 2 on Zapier (Pabbly). A vendor's own comparison grades its own homework: no workflow is shown, and the count depends on how many actions and modules your flow has. Count your own flows instead.
Free on both, first
Pabbly's Free plan gives 100 tasks with no card needed, and Make's Free plan 1,000 credits a month (Pabbly, Make pricing). Pabbly's free tier stops at two-step workflows, so rebuild your simplest live flow on both, run it for a week, and set the task count beside the credit count. With one trigger and one action, Pabbly counts one task per run and Make two operations; each formatting module you add widens the gap on Make, while Pabbly's formatters stay free.
Choose Pabbly Connect if your job is
- Running many short client or campaign flows at a fixed monthly price.
- Keeping filtering and formatting off the bill.
- Paying once for a set allowance and accepting a one-year support window.
Choose Make if your job is
- Building long, branching scenarios that others will need to read and maintain.
- Giving an agent knowledge files and whole scenarios as tools.
- Reaching apps outside Pabbly's directory.
FAQ
Does a filter or a router use a Pabbly task?
No. Pabbly lists filters, routers, formatters, iterators and parsers among the internal steps it does not count (pricing section).
Can a team share a Pabbly account on a monthly plan?
Not with the team member feature, which the pricing section says is unavailable on monthly plans (pricing section).
What does Make do when credits run out?
Scenarios stop until credits are added, and incoming webhooks wait in a queue until they resume (Make pricing).
