The short answer: if six people sell to other companies and one of them will build the workflows, pick Attio: Pro costs $79 per seat a month billed annually and lets you shape the objects, attributes and agent steps yourself, per Attio's pricing page. If your pipeline starts with forms, newsletters and ads, pick HubSpot, whose Marketing Hub meters marketing contacts (1,000 on Starter, 2,000 on Professional) and whose hubs arrive with stages and reports already defined.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.

The two start from opposite assumptions. Attio calls itself the CRM for agentic revenue on its homepage and sells the tools to shape the system around your sales motion. HubSpot's homepage promises marketing, sales and service on one customer record, and sells the hubs that sit on it. So the real question is who in your company does the shaping.

What decides it:

  1. The first-year bill for the same team. For example, six sellers on Attio Pro cost 6 x $79 x 12 = $5,688 a year billed annually. Six on HubSpot Sales Hub Professional cost 6 x $90 x 12 = $6,480 plus the required one-time $1,500 onboarding, so $7,980, using the Attio and Sales Hub pricing pages.
  2. What you already hold. HubSpot's free CRM takes up to two users and 1,000 contacts with no expiration date, and an upgrade keeps the data in place. Attio fills its records from the mailboxes you connect, one per user on Plus and two on Pro.
  3. The allowance you will watch. Attio's workflows and AI features spend workspace credits, 1,500 a month on Plus and 10,000 on Pro; HubSpot's agents spend HubSpot Credits, 500 on Starter and 3,000 on Professional, per Attio's pricing page and HubSpot's. Note what each pilot workflow uses in its first month.

Three differences that settle it

Who shapes the record

In Attio, a new kind of record is a setting. If you track investors, partners or workspaces next to companies and deals, Plus gives you five objects and Pro twelve, each with its own attributes, per the pricing page. In HubSpot you inherit the model: contacts, companies, deals and tickets that marketing, sales and service all read. That inheritance helps when a form fill, a deal and a ticket should land on one person, and gets in the way when your sales motion is not a funnel.

Where the agents sit

Attio puts agents inside its workflow builder. The block library lists a Web agent that researches a record online and a Custom agent where you choose an OpenAI, Google or Anthropic model. HubSpot sells agents as products: Sales Hub Starter lists Agent Hub, Agent Builder and a prospecting agent, and Marketing Hub Professional adds a Content Agent and a Nurture Agent, both marked beta on the Marketing Hub page.

Which meter grows

Attio grows by seats and credits. Extra workspace credits run from 5,000 a month at $85 on monthly billing, or $70 on annual. HubSpot grows by seats, credits and marketing contacts, and Marketing Hub Professional bundles 3 Core Seats with 2,000 marketing contacts at $800 a month billed annually, per its pricing page. A team that emails a large list feels HubSpot's contact meter first; a team that automates heavily feels Attio's credits first.

In USD, from the Attio pricing page and the Sales Hub pricing page, both checked on 26 October 2026. HubSpot's Starter figures sit beside a struck-through $20, and its Marketing Hub page carries a banner offering up to 65% off Starter to new customers only, for a limited time, so budget the renewal as well as the first invoice.

One agent step, and the human check beside it

The job: decide whether a new inbound person is worth a seller's afternoon. In Attio, a workflow triggered when a person record is created can hand the company to the Web agent with one question, such as whether it sells to businesses with more than 50 staff. A Classify record block then tags the record as fit or not fit. The block library warns that agent outputs are not saved to attributes on their own, so add an Update record block, and that agents cannot reliably read pages behind a login such as LinkedIn. The human check: the record owner reads the tag and the agent's answer before anyone enrols that person in a sequence.

Before either invoice

Both free tiers are enough to decide on. Put the same 50 target accounts into Attio Free and HubSpot's free CRM for two weeks and count which tool your sellers open without a reminder. Attio adds a 14-day Pro trial to new workspaces, per its plans article.

Attio's footer lists HubSpot among the tools it imports from, and HubSpot's free CRM page promises no data migration when you upgrade. Arriving is made easy because arriving is the sale; leaving is the part you plan. Keep a CSV export of your companies, people and deals from whichever pilot you drop.

Choose Attio if

  • Your job is running a B2B sales process you want to model yourself, with objects such as investors, partners or workspaces.
  • One person will own the workflows and the agent prompts, and wants them in the same builder.
  • Newsletters and nurture email live in another tool.

Choose HubSpot if

  • Your job is turning website forms, newsletters and ads into a pipeline that marketing and sales read from one record.
  • You want stages, lifecycle definitions and reports to arrive ready rather than designed.
  • Support tickets will later need to sit on the same customer.

FAQ

Which is cheaper for a team of three?

Attio, while three seats fit its free plan. HubSpot's free tools stop at two users, so the third person needs Starter: for example, 3 x $10 = $30 a month on monthly billing, from the Sales Hub pricing page.

Can an outside AI assistant update records in either one?

Yes. Attio lists an MCP server on its pricing page. HubSpot's remote MCP server can create and edit records, respects the user's permissions and asks for explicit confirmation before each create or update.

Is Attio a marketing automation tool?

No. Its sending limits are written for sales email: 10 recipients at once on Free and 50 on paid plans, per the plans article.
