The short answer: a sales team of up to ten people at a startup or scale-up that wants to design its own objects and automate them with AI agents gets there on Attio Plus, $35 per seat a month billed annually on the Attio pricing page. A company that needs quoting and forecasting now, and editions that add Slack, Tableau and a success plan as it grows, belongs on Salesforce, from Pro Suite at $100 per user a month, billed annually under contract, per its sales pricing page and free CRM page. With Salesforce, you buy a first rung rather than a CRM: Starter Suite, Pro Suite, then Core, Advanced and Max, each adding platform pieces such as Slack tiers, analytics and planning tools. Attio is one product whose plans differ mainly in seats, records, credits and a handful of features, with the shape of the data left to whoever sets it up. Neither approach is wrong. They suit companies at different distances from their final process.
Three questions, in this order:
- How many people, and on which rung. For example, twelve users rule out Attio Plus, which stops at 10 seats, so Attio means Pro at 12 x $79 = $948 a month billed annually. Salesforce Starter Suite is 12 x $25 = $300 a month, and Pro Suite is 12 x $100 = $1,200 billed annually. Figures from the Attio and Salesforce pricing pages.
- Who owns the setup, starting from what you run now. For setup, Salesforce's pricing page sends you to its Professional Services team or a certified partner. Attio's lists a migration service through its sales team on paid plans, and names Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Excel and CSV as import sources. If nobody on the team owns the CRM today, decide who will before either demo.
- One report to judge the choice by. Compare what the team committed for last quarter with what it booked. If the two were close, forecasting software solves a problem you do not have; if they were far apart, Salesforce's forecasting from Pro Suite deserves a demo.

Where the decision sits
Who designs the data model
Attio counts objects on its pricing page: up to 3 on Free, 5 on Plus, 12 on Pro, unlimited on Enterprise, alongside custom attributes and relationships you define. Salesforce describes its Sales Cloud as fully customisable sales force automation and steers implementation toward professional services and partners. That is power for a process with approvals, partners and several business units, and a cost for a team that changes its process every quarter.
How far the ladder climbs
Past Pro Suite, the sales pricing page climbs to Core ($195), Advanced ($395) and Max ($550), each per user a month and billed annually. Core is where Slack Business+, Tableau Next and Premier Success arrive; Max bundles Agentforce for Sales with a yearly pool of 2.75M Flex Credits for the org. Attio's ladder ends at Pro, then a quoted Enterprise plan with unlimited objects and teams and more security and admin controls.
What an agent costs
Attio includes workspace credits for workflows and AI on every plan and sells more from 5,000 credits for $85 a month on monthly billing. Salesforce sells Agentforce for Sales as an add-on starting at $125 a user each month, for Core and the editions above, and its Hosted MCP guide reserves those servers for Flex Credit customers and warns that server usage can be billed.
What each charges per seat, checked on 26 October 2026
Attio's pricing page, per seat each month: Plus at $35 on annual billing or $44 month to month, Pro at $79 or $99, Free at $0 for up to three seats, and Enterprise on quote.
Salesforce's sales pricing page, per user each month: Max $550, Advanced $395, Core $195 and Pro Suite $100, all on annual billing; Starter Suite $25 with a choice of monthly or annual billing; the Free Suite at $0 for two users.
An agent that reads the deal before the forecast call
Attio's block library documents a Custom agent block with a structured output mode: you define a schema, and each property becomes a variable later blocks can use. Trigger a workflow when a deal moves to Negotiation. Give the agent read access to that deal's notes and emails, which is all it can have, since Attio's agent tools are read-only, and ask for three fields: open objections, whether a budget holder has replied, and the next step the buyer agreed to. Follow it with Update record to write those fields to attributes. The human check is the deal owner, who reads the three fields before Thursday's forecast call and corrects them. The run viewer shows the steps the agent took, the tools it called and the credits each step used, so the sales lead can see what one review costs. On Salesforce, the equivalent sits in Agentforce for Sales, priced per user.
Free first, on both
On Salesforce, two people can use the Free Suite without a card or a contract, and a 30-day trial covers the paid suites. Attio's Free plan holds 3 seats, and a new workspace starts with a 14-day trial of Pro. Build the same pipeline in each with the deals from step 3, and see which one your team opens unprompted in week two.
Attio's plans article says the Free plan allows 250 workspace credits a month with no option to buy more, so the first workflow your team comes to rely on arrives at the upgrade screen. That cap is the free plan doing its job for the vendor, and knowing where it sits lets you choose the moment to pay rather than meet it mid-campaign.
Choose Attio if your job is
- Modelling a sales process your own way, from objects to workflows, with a team of up to ten.
- Putting AI agents inside workflows, with the cost of each run visible.
- Starting free and adding seats one hire at a time.
Choose Salesforce if your job is
- Quoting and forecasting now, inside a suite your support and marketing teams can share later.
- Buying a success plan and expert guidance as part of the edition, from Core upwards.
- Connecting AI agents through admin-configured, auditable servers that respect field-level security.

Attio's pricing page lists Salesforce among its import sources, with HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Excel and CSV, and offers a migration service through its sales team on paid plans.
Which is cheaper for five users?
At the entry rungs, Salesforce. For example, five users cost 5 x $25 = $125 a month on Starter Suite, against 5 x $35 = $175 on Attio Plus billed annually; Pro Suite is 5 x $100 = $500. Figures from the Salesforce and Attio pricing pages, checked on 26 October 2026.
Do AI agents cost extra?
On Attio, agent runs spend the workspace credits each plan includes, and more can be bought, per its pricing page. Salesforce prices Agentforce for Sales separately, starting at $125 for each user every month, except on Max, which bundles it, per its sales pricing page.
