The short answer: which channel caused last quarter's sales, answered before the next budget meeting. That is a job for Causality Engine. The first finding from your GA4 export is free, and the full read is €99 once, refundable within 30 days (pricing, checked on 27 October 2026). Daasity answers a bigger and different job: a governed data foundation that joins Shopify, Amazon, retail, inventory and marketing, with contribution margin built in. Its entry plan is $1,499 a month on its pricing page, checked the same day. One is a warehouse. The other is a verdict.

Disclosure: I founded Causality Engine and own it, and this page recommends it. Every claim about it links to Causality Engine's own pages.

Before you sign for a warehouse:

  1. Price the year, not the month. Daasity's Starter Essentials at $1,499 a month is, for example, 12 × $1,499 = $17,988 a year, from its pricing page. Four quarterly reads cost 4 × €99 = €396 a year, excluding VAT. That is the figure Causality Engine's attribution checkup page prints.
  2. Start from the export GA4 already gives you. In GA4, the Attribution paths report sits under Advertising, then Attribution, per Google's attribution help page. Any report downloads as a CSV of up to 100,000 rows from Share this report, per the export help page. That file is the whole input to a read.
  3. Write down the decision the answer will change. If no budget move waits on "which channel caused it", neither tool is urgent. If the bigger pain is that finance, inventory and marketing each run on a different spreadsheet, the people are not the problem. The plumbing is. That is a data-platform job, and Daasity's.

You are not misreading the price

Daasity's own pricing page lists Starter Essentials at $1,499 a month and Essentials at $1,999, both self-service. Enterprise is custom, and every plan carries a 30-day onboarding guarantee. Its Shopify App Store listing, read the same day, says $1,899 a month with a 14-day free trial, billed in USD every 30 days. Usage charges there follow an annualised rolling three-month average of your total revenue. Two doors, two numbers. Ask which one applies before you budget for it.

How each answers "which channel worked"

Rules on clicks, or a counterfactual

Daasity's attribution docs are clear about the method. Last click credits the source of the session with the purchase. First click credits the first source in the 30 days before it. Assisted gives one credit to every other source touched in that window. These are rules applied to paths, cleanly documented, and they tell you which channels were present. Present is not the same as caused. Causality Engine's how-it-works page asks a different question of a similar file: what each channel caused, separated from what it only touched. Last-click is rebuilt from the same export, so the two sit side by side.

Breadth against depth

Daasity is wide. Retail performance, Amazon, syndicated Nielsen and SPINS data, product repurchase rates, lifetime value by first-order channel: that is the job of a data platform, and Causality Engine does none of it. Causality Engine is narrow by design. Its cost page lists what the money does not buy: no dashboard, no continuous monitoring on the single read, no offline or retail measurement, no analyst on a call. What it does do is grade each channel's data from 0 to 100. And it refuses to guess on a channel under 1% of credit on both methods.

The AI layer on each

Both now put an assistant in front of the data. Daasity's MCP server connects ChatGPT, Claude and other enterprise AI tools to its governed data layer. Causality Engine's Pro plan includes a chatbot over your own attribution data. Use either the same way: the assistant drafts, and a person finds the figure in the dashboard or in the read's receipts before budget moves on it.

Price, read on 27 October 2026

Causality Engine's pricing page: €99 for a single read, one-time and refundable within 30 days. Pro is €299 a month, billed monthly. Enterprise runs as a custom 90-day pilot, and VAT comes on top. Daasity's pricing page: Starter Essentials $1,499 a month, Essentials $1,999 a month, Enterprise custom, and a Syndicated Data plus AI Analyst offer at $499 a month. Its Shopify listing shows $1,899 a month with a 14-day trial.

On the Shopify listing, Daasity's usage charges follow an annualised rolling three-month average of your total revenue. So the bill grows with the store. The question you bought it to answer may not have changed at all.

The free test, with nothing but GA4

You can run the first check without paying anyone. Export the Attribution paths report as a CSV. Drop it on Causality Engine's start page for the free first finding, which its home page says runs in your browser while the file stays on your machine. Read what Direct is hiding. If it is a small share and the platforms roughly agree with the store, stop. If not, the €99 read prices every channel. Pro, by the pricing page, fits eight or more channels with budgets that move weekly. And if what you need is the joined-up warehouse, start Daasity's 14-day trial with your own question list in hand.

Choose Causality Engine if

  • Your job is deciding which channel earns the next euro, from the GA4 history you already have.
  • You need an answer this week and a figure finance can check against the export.
  • You do not want to fund a year of a data platform to answer one recurring question.
  • You want the read to run beside whatever reporting you keep: the home page calls it a layer, not a migration.

Choose Daasity if

  • Your job is one source of truth across Shopify, Amazon, retail and wholesale, with contribution margin and inventory in the same model.
  • You sell in stores and need retail performance and syndicated category data next to ecommerce.
  • You have, or will hire, someone who works in BI tools and a warehouse such as Snowflake.
  • Reporting itself is the bottleneck, not the attribution question.

Plenty of brands will want both. Daasity for the books, the read for the channel verdict. Causality Engine's Daasity alternatives page, which is the company's own view, suggests keeping Daasity and adding the read.

One export, one answer

Causality Engine, which I founded, turns the GA4 export into a per-channel answer: the first finding is free on the start page, the full read is €99, and the method is laid out on the how-it-works page. A short description sits in the Causality Engine glossary entry.

FAQ

How much does Daasity cost?

From $1,499 a month for Starter Essentials on its pricing page, and $1,899 a month on its Shopify App Store listing, both checked on 27 October 2026. Enterprise is quoted.

Does Daasity do causal or incrementality attribution?

Its attribution docs describe rule-based models (last click, first click, assisted, last ad click, last marketing click), plus survey, discount-code and vendor-reported attribution. The pages read for this comparison do not describe a causal or holdout method.

Can Causality Engine replace a data warehouse?

No. It reads one GA4 export and answers what each channel caused, per its how-it-works page. Margin, inventory, retail and finance reporting stay with a platform like Daasity, or with your own warehouse.
