The short answer: Prescient AI draws its own line at $100K a month in ad spend. Below it, Prescient says its platform is not built for your size, and Causality Engine is the pick. A causal read of the paths in your GA4 export costs €99 (pricing, checked on 27 October 2026), and the first finding is free on the start page. Above that line, with Amazon, retail or TV beside the webshop, Prescient's marketing mix model measures the halo between channels that a site export cannot see. It sells that on an annual contract (Prescient pricing, checked the same day).

Disclosure: I founded Causality Engine and own it, and this page recommends it. Every claim about it links to Causality Engine's own pages.

Neither tool asks you to install a pixel, which makes them easy to confuse. They answer from different evidence. A mix model reads spend and sales over time across every channel. A causal read of GA4 reads the paths buyers took to your checkout.

Three numbers to check first:

  1. Your monthly ad spend. Prescient's pricing FAQ says the platform is built for brands spending $100K or more a month on advertising. Causality Engine's pricing page recommends €99 reads, 2 to 4 a year, for brands under €1M in annual revenue with paid spend under €50K a month. It recommends Pro at €299 a month from €1M to €5M, with spend of €50K to €250K. For example, a brand spending €30,000 a month on ads sits in Causality Engine's first band and well under Prescient's $100K floor.
  2. The share of revenue that never touches your site. Prescient prices by sales channel, DTC, Amazon, retail and wholesale, with a model for each, per its pricing page. A GA4 export holds only what reached your site.
  3. The length of the commitment. Prescient's FAQ answer is "Annual contracts". Causality Engine's read has no term. Pro is billed monthly and stops at the end of any billing month, per its pricing page.

Two methods that skip the pixel

On this axis they agree. Prescient's comparison page lists no pixel or cookie dependency. Causality Engine's how-it-works page explains why it works from GA4 data you already collect instead of adding a tag. Both avoid the ad platforms grading their own conversions.

Then they part. Prescient builds a model of the whole mix from spend, impressions and revenue, refreshed daily. It says on its comparison page that it calibrates against geo-lift and incrementality tests. Causality Engine reads the converting paths in GA4 and splits Direct back to the channels that sent those buyers. It rebuilds last-click from the same file so the two sit side by side. One models the market's response to spend. The other reads the journeys your store recorded.

What each one can see

Prescient's case is the halo: a TikTok campaign that lifts branded search, streaming TV that lifts Amazon sales. Its home page describes measuring "direct and halo revenue", and its integrations reach retail media and marketplaces. If a quarter of your revenue lands on Amazon, a GA4 export never sees those orders. Causality Engine's own pay-per-report page says as much: an online-only read misses offline and retail spend.

Measuring the halo is what a mix model is for, and it is the strongest argument for Prescient. On a single webshop, the trade runs the other way. Prescient sets its floor at $100K a month in ad spend, per its pricing page. Causality Engine's read works on the history in one export, and says when it cannot separate a channel. Each channel carries a data-health score from 0 to 100. A channel under 1% of credit on both methods is called too small to act on, per its how-it-works page.

Forecasts, or next steps

Prescient sells forward-looking answers: scenario planning, saturation curves and the question "what happens if I move $50K from YouTube to TikTok?", per its comparison page. It is also candid about limits, calling its insights "directional and predictive, not prescriptive". It reports 93%+ accuracy from backtesting on each brand's own history, its own figure.

Causality Engine stops at the decision in front of you: raise, cut or hold each channel, and how to test it in one region first, per its how-it-works page. It does not forecast.

Price, and the length of a yes

Checked on 27 October 2026. Prescient's pricing page publishes no figure. SMB, Growth and Enterprise tiers set the base fee, adjusted for the number of sales channels, with unlimited users, all integrations and onboarding included. Causality Engine's pricing page lists €99 per read, refundable within 30 days, Pro at €299 a month and a custom 90-day Enterprise pilot, before VAT.

Prescient's demo button carries the line "No commitment to buy". The FAQ on the same page answers the contract question with "Annual contracts". The free part is the call; the default that follows a yes is twelve months. Ask for the term and the exit terms in the proposal, in writing, before the custom analysis makes the decision for you.

Choose Causality Engine if your job is

  • Deciding where next month's budget goes on a webshop spending under $100K a month on ads.
  • Checking what Meta, Google, TikTok, email and organic caused, without a contract or onboarding.
  • Finding out quickly whether your data is strong enough to separate channels at all.

Choose Prescient AI if your job is

  • Measuring halo effects from TV, CTV and social onto Amazon, retail and the webshop, at $100K a month or more in ad spend.
  • Forecasting budget scenarios with saturation curves, refreshed daily, for a growth or finance team.
  • Running one model across DTC, Amazon, retail and wholesale.

Definition and basics: Causality Engine in the glossary.

The free routes first

A mix model can be free if you have the people. Causality Engine's marketing mix modeling page points to Google's Meridian and Meta's Robyn. Both are open-source frameworks that cost nothing when someone on the team can build, feed and maintain the model. Without that person, the free preview on the start page shows which channels sit behind your Direct traffic, worked out in your browser.

Causality Engine, which I founded, prices the full read of that export at €99, refundable within 30 days, at app.causalityengine.ai/start. Every channel gets a caused share, a data-health score and a next step, and the how-it-works page lists the assumptions the model makes. When spend grows past what a quarterly read handles, Pro runs the same model continuously at €299 a month.

FAQ

Is Prescient AI attribution or marketing mix modelling?

Mix modelling. Its home page calls it a marketing mix modeling platform that measures direct and halo revenue and forecasts budget scenarios.

Can Prescient's MCP server read my account data?

No. Its developer portal says the public API and MCP servers expose only information published on prescientai.com. They cannot access customer accounts, datasets, forecasts or models.

What should a brand under $100K a month use?

Prescient says its platform is built for spend above that. Causality Engine's pricing page recommends a €99 read per planning cycle for brands under €1M in revenue. It recommends Pro for brands with a marketing lead and weekly budget moves.
