Questions I would ask first

Question 1

What does it cost to acquire a seller and a buyer, and can your take rate carry both?

Question 2

What has to be true on the supply side before you spend on demand in a new market?

Question 3

Who owns email, push and in-app messaging, and do they work from one lifecycle plan?

Question 4

Which part of the category can you own, and where do you compete only on price?

Where I would look first

A starting list for the week-one diagnosis, which audits channels, team, stack and agency relationships. It is typical for the sector, not a record of what I have run.

KPIs I would track
  • Supply liquidity
  • Demand cohort retention
  • Take rate
  • Time to second transaction
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Seller activation rate
Tools I expect to find
  • Braze
  • Iterable
  • Klaviyo
  • Customer.io
  • mParticle
  • Segment
  • Snowplow
Channels I would review first
  • Influencer marketing
  • Performance marketing (supply)
  • Content / SEO (demand)
  • Referral programs
  • Paid social
  • Programmatic retargeting

What it costs

From €5,000 to €25,000 per month, set by how much of the function I take on and how many days a week that takes. €25,000 is a full mandate with P&L ownership. Monthly cycles, a 30-day exit clause. The ladder is the same in every sector, and the full ladder is in the homepage pricing section.

From my track record

Vinted: influencer marketing in the French market from zero foothold, on United Wardrobe's entry, which Vinted went on to acquire. See the interactive CV for the full record.

Frequently asked

Do you work with consumer marketplaces or B2B marketplaces?

The marketplace work I can point to is consumer: United Wardrobe's entry into the French market, on influencer marketing from zero foothold. For a B2B marketplace I would start with ABM and content.

How do you handle the chicken-and-egg problem in geographic expansion?

I sequence it: supply acquisition first, single-city launches, and paid demand only once liquidity is met.

Do you handle ops or only marketing?

Marketing leadership and execution. A full mandate adds P&L ownership and team building, up to €25,000 a month. Logistics and customer support stay with your operations team.

What is the minimum marketplace size for an engagement to make sense?

I do not publish a GMV threshold. Engagements start at €5,000 a month, in monthly cycles with a 30-day exit clause, so the test is whether the work is worth that to you. Send the intake with your numbers and I will tell you whether it fits.

One intake. A straight answer on fit.

Five-minute intake. Monthly cycles, a 30-day exit clause, and a reply within 24 hours. If I am not the right fit, I will say so.
