How to Use Plus AI to Tailor a Pitch Deck in PowerPoint

The short answer: if you tailor the same pitch deck for each prospect and the deck has to stay a PowerPoint file, Plus AI's Team plan at $30 per user a month billed annually ($40 monthly) is the tier: it adds your logo, fonts and colours and 6,000 AI credits a month, and the agent works inside PowerPoint itself (pricing page, checked on 26 October 2026). The steps: install the add-in in the PowerPoint desktop app, set up custom branding, save your company context once, attach the prospect's brief, ask the agent for one slide at a time while you check each change, and keep the pricing and legal slides out of its hands.

The job starts with a deck that already wins and a brief about one prospect: their industry, the problem they described on the call, the people in the room. The work is changing six to ten slides so the deck speaks to that company without breaking what made it work. Plus puts that work inside PowerPoint rather than in another editor. Plans and limits are in the Plus AI glossary entry.
Before step 1:
- The credit budget per deck. A typical agent task uses 40 to 170 credits, per the agent guide. For example, tailoring 8 slides at one task each costs between 8 x 40 = 320 and 8 x 170 = 1,360 credits, so Team's 6,000 covers 4 decks a month at the top of the range and Basic's 1,500 barely one.
- Work on a copy of the deck that wins. The agent edits what you select and can add tables, charts, icons and images, so start from the version that closes most often rather than a blank file, and keep the original untouched.
- Your edit rate. Track how many agent changes you keep as they come. If most need rework, the brief or the instructions are the problem, and that is fixable before the trial ends.
What you need
- The PowerPoint desktop app. The install guide strongly encourages it over PowerPoint in the browser.
- A Plus account, signed in with Google or Microsoft. It is separate from your Microsoft account.
- A trial or plan. New customers get 7 days and 1,000 credits; a card is required and charged when the trial ends, and earlier customers do not qualify, per the billing guide.
- The prospect brief as a PDF or Word file.
Step 1: Install the add-in
In PowerPoint, open the Home tab, click Add-ins, search for "Plus AI for PowerPoint" and click Add. Once installed, Plus AI sits on the Home tab; click its icon to open the sidebar and log in, per the install guide. If you install from Microsoft AppSource instead and hit an authentication error, the guide's advice is to install from inside the app.
Step 2: Set up custom branding
Open the New presentation window and click Custom branding, as the branding guide describes. Most Plus designs use only the primary background, primary text and first accent colour, so set those carefully and repeat values where you have fewer colours. In PowerPoint you can use any font installed on your computer, but the name must match exactly, and custom fonts may not render for people who open the file elsewhere. Upload the logo as .png, .jpeg or .gif with a transparent background.
The branding is shared with the whole team, and any member can change it, so agree who owns it.
Step 3: Save the company context once
Saved context holds the instructions Plus should always keep in mind: what your company sells, to whom, and the writing style you want. Presets save the prompts and settings for one kind of deck, such as a prospect pitch, so the next person does not start from a blank prompt. Both are shared across the team, per the presets guide. The presets guide names Pro as the requirement while the pricing page lists saved presets under Team; on Team you have them either way.
Step 4: Attach the brief and ask for one slide
Open your copy of the deck and select the first slide to tailor, usually the problem statement. In the Plus AI sidebar, attach the brief and tell the agent what to change in plain words: "Rewrite this slide for a logistics company whose planners lose a day a week to manual scheduling, using the attached brief; keep three bullets and the existing headline style." The PowerPoint agent's options include up to 10 reference files on Pro and above, per the generation guide; if the attach option is not offered for an edit, paste the brief's key points into the request instead.
The agent guide gives two rules for this step: describe edits in as much detail as you can, and work on one slide at a time. If you can see the agent going off-track, press stop.
Step 5: Check each change before the next
This is the human check, and it sits between every slide. Read the edited slide against the brief: is every claim about the prospect in the brief, is every number yours, does the slide still say what the original said about your product? For tone, use Rewrite on the slide; the rewrite guide suggests duplicating a slide first if you want to compare versions side by side. Only then move to the next slide.
Leave the pricing slide, the legal disclaimer and the customer logos unselected. They are the slides where an agent's helpful rewording costs the most.
Step 6: Scale it, with a person still signing off
When the pattern works by hand, Plus documents two ways to run it without opening PowerPoint. The Presentation Agent API takes a starting .pptx and attachments, and its own example is a sales proposal tailored from a standard pitch deck and a customer brief; each turn uses agent credits and returns a PPTX and a PDF. The Zapier integration can create a draft deck when a row is added to a Google Sheet. Either way the output is a draft file, and a rep runs step 5 on it before anything reaches the prospect.
What the guide warns about
- PowerPoint in the browser. The install guide steers you to the desktop app.
- Custom fonts on other machines. They may not render when the file is shared or opened in Microsoft 365 online.
- An empty credit balance. Once the monthly limit is reached the agent stops working until the billing date, and credits belong to each user rather than the team.
- Charts inside the brief. Plus cannot extract images, diagrams or charts from an uploaded document, per the upload guide.
Time it by hand first
The free test needs only a stopwatch. Before the trial, tailor one deck by hand with the brief open and note the minutes; during the trial, do the next prospect with the agent and note them again, edits and checks included. If the second number is not clearly smaller, the seat is not worth $30 a month, and the trial has told you so for nothing.
Watch the end of that trial closely. The card is charged on the day it ends, Plus refunds no subscription payment, and the billing guide says uninstalling the add-in cancels nothing, so the add-in can vanish from your ribbon while the plan keeps billing; cancellation happens only in the billing portal.
FAQ
Can I do this in Google Slides?
Generation, insert, rewrite and remix work there, but agent mode is currently only in Plus AI for PowerPoint and the AI Agent API, per the agent guide.
What happens when the credits run out?
You cannot use the agent until your credit limit resets on the billing date. Credits belong to the individual user and are not pooled across the organisation.
Who can cancel or change the plan?
Only the organisation owner, who is also the billing admin, per the team guide.
