How to Use Two Minute Reports for One Sheet per Client

The short answer: with five clients on Google Ads and Meta Ads, Two Minute Reports needs five accounts on each connector, two more than Lite includes, so the bill is $97 + 2 x $10 = $117 a month against $297 for Pro (plans article, checked on 26 October 2026). The steps: install the add-on, connect the platforms with setup links where the client holds the login, create each client and assign its accounts, build one master sheet with a query per platform, schedule a monthly refresh that emails a PDF, copy the sheet for each client with new account mapping, and let Claude draft each client's update before a person checks it.

Get these ready first:
- The slot arithmetic. Count the accounts on your busiest connector, since the limit applies per connector (add-ons article). For example, five clients on Google Ads need 5 slots, 5 - 3 = 2 more than Lite holds, and 2 x $10 = $20 a month on top of the $97.
- The logins you do not hold. List which client accounts you can open yourself and which only the client can sign in to; the second group gets a setup link in step 2 (setup link article).
- One number per client to check. Last month's spend from each ad manager, so every copied sheet can be verified in a minute.
What the product includes and costs is in the Two Minute Reports glossary entry.
What you need
- A Two Minute Reports trial, 14 days with no card, with Google Sheets as your destination (destination article).
- A Google account allowed to install add-ons; on a work account your organisation may have to allow it first (installation article).
- A role of Owner, Admin, Deputy Admin or Data Manager, which assigning accounts to clients requires (clients article).
Step 1: Install the add-on
In Google Sheets, open Extensions, Add-ons, Get add-ons, search for Two Minute Reports, click Install and Allow the permissions, then open Extensions, Two Minute Reports, Launch (installation article). The sidebar opens on Data Queries, with Connections and Schedule Refresh under Menu.
Step 2: Connect the platforms, with setup links for client logins
Create the connections you can authorise yourself. For an account only the client can open, go to Connections & accounts in the Hub, choose Share setup link, pick the connector and name the connection after the client and the platform (setup link article). The client opens the link, signs in to the platform, and the connection lands in your team without them needing an account. Each link works once and expires after 7 days.
Step 3: Create each client and assign its accounts
Open Clients, click Create client, enter the name and, if you want them, a logo, brand colour and currency, then assign the client's accounts on its Accounts tab (clients article). This is what keeps one client's Google Ads account out of another client's report.
Step 4: Build the master sheet for the first client
In the sidebar, open Data Queries and click Add. Name the query, select the connection and the client's accounts, choose metrics and dimensions, set the date range to last month and click Run query (queries article). Make one focused query per platform on its own tab, with Date as a dimension, because the help centre finds several small queries faster and easier to read than one wide one. Put the formulas and charts on a separate summary tab (spreadsheets article).
Step 5: Schedule the monthly refresh and the email
Open Schedule Refresh and click New. Select the queries, choose Monthly with a day and an hour, check the time zone, then under Notification set Action to Email, add the client's address and tick Attach selected sheet as PDF (scheduling article). Test before you rely on it: run the queries by hand, create a test schedule that fires soon and confirm the email arrives.
Step 6: Copy the sheet for every other client
In My Reports, open the menu on the master spreadsheet and choose Copy, or use Extensions, Two Minute Reports, Duplicate this report (spreadsheets article). Under Account Mapping, select the next client's account for each connector, name the copy and click Submit. The copy keeps every tab and query, so change only what differs, such as filters or the client's currency.
Step 7: Let Claude draft each client's update
Add Two Minute Reports from the Claude directory, sign in and click Allow (Claude article). Then ask: "Using the Two Minute Reports connector, write a short update on last month's results for [client], comparing Google Ads and Meta spend and conversions with the month before." Claude asks your permission the first time it uses a tool, and it can do no more than your role on the team allows (AI tools overview). The person who owns the client checks every figure against that client's sheet before the update goes into the email body.
What can go wrong, per the docs
- Hourly refreshes run at a minute you do not choose, and the minute changes whenever you edit the schedule (scheduling article).
- Each schedule keeps its own time zone. Changing the team's time zone later does not move schedules that already exist.
- A lost connection stops the schedule. When a refresh does not run, check first that every connection still has access to its accounts.
- Removing an add-on cannot be undone, so check what depends on a destination or a slot before you drop it (add-ons article).
Prove it on one client before the trial ends
One client's sheet, built and emailed during the trial, settles the question for free: if its numbers match the ad managers and the PDF arrives, the rest is copying. If that client's sources are all Google's, compare it with Data Studio, which connects to Google Ads and Google Analytics at no charge. Count the copies before you multiply them. Each client sheet runs on Two Minute Reports' schedules, and when the subscription ends its queries and schedules stop while the sheets stay in Drive (subscription article), so every client you roll out this way raises the cost of leaving.
FAQ
Can a copied sheet use a different date range from the master?
Yes. After copying, change the date range, metrics, filters or dimensions of any query (spreadsheets article).
What does Smart Refresh do?
On later runs it fetches only the most recent days and merges them with the data already in the sheet. It needs the Date dimension and Advanced Scheduler switched on, and the add-on suggests it for queries longer than 30 days (scheduling article).
Is there a request limit in Claude?
Yes: up to 120 requests a minute per person (Claude article).
