Pabbly Connect vs n8n: Action Tasks or Whole Workflow Runs

The short answer: if you keep dozens of short integrations running, such as a Facebook lead copied to a sheet and a CRM, Pabbly Connect carries 10,000 action tasks a month for $19 on monthly billing; if a handful of flows run fifteen steps with branches and an AI agent, n8n carries 10,000 complete runs a month for $60 on its Pro plan (Pabbly Connect, n8n pricing, both checked on 26 October 2026).
Disclosure: I may earn a commission through some links on this site. It does not change what this page says.
What Pabbly Connect changes is the price of breadth. Triggers cost nothing, and neither do its internal steps: filters, routers, formatters, schedules, iterators and email parsers. Only action steps draw on tasks, and polling checks are free as well (Pabbly Connect). The job it wins is keeping many small integrations alive for one business or for an agency's clients, with a flat Unlimited tier and one-time lifetime plans beside the subscriptions.
n8n counts differently. A production execution is one run of the whole workflow, started by a trigger, a schedule or a poll that finds new data (executions).
Work it out on one flow:
- Translate a real flow into both units. For example, a webinar sign-up that adds a Mailchimp subscriber, a Google Sheets row and a Slack alert has three actions. At 1,200 sign-ups a month that is 3 x 1,200 = 3,600 Pabbly tasks, inside Standard's 10,000, and 1,200 n8n executions, inside Starter's 2,500 (Pabbly Connect, n8n pricing).
- Check your current apps against both directories. Pabbly lists 2,000+ integrations and an API module for anything else; n8n lists 500+ native integrations and calls other APIs over HTTP (Pabbly Connect, n8n).
- Decide where you will read a failure. Pabbly's task history shows each step of a run, which its own guides tell you to check after testing (Human in Loop guide). n8n keeps every production execution in a list you can filter and replay (executions).
Compared on the record
| Pabbly Connect | Compared on | n8n |
|---|---|---|
| Action steps only; triggers and internal steps free (pricing FAQ) | What uses the allowance | One execution per complete run (executions) |
| Free: 100 tasks, two-step workflows | Free route | Community Edition, self-hosted (choose n8n) |
| Standard, $19 for 10,000 tasks | First paid plan, billed monthly | Starter, $24 for 2,500 executions (pricing) |
| Unlimited, $79, no task count | Top self-serve plan | Business, $960 for 40,000 executions, self-hosted |
| From $349 for 3,000 tasks a month | One-time purchase | None on the pricing page |
| Human in Loop by email, webhook or another workflow, on Unlimited (guide) | A person approves first | Human review on chosen agent tools (docs) |
| MCP servers, on Unlimited and the two larger lifetime plans (MCP guide) | AI assistants calling in | MCP Server Trigger (docs) |
| SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001:2022, per the vendor | Stated security | Hosted in Frankfurt, or on your servers (pricing FAQ) |
Three differences
Where the meters cross
For example, at three actions a run, Standard's 10,000 tasks cover 10,000 / 3 = 3,333 runs for $19, against 2,500 runs for $24 on n8n Starter. At twelve actions a run, the same 10,000 tasks cover 10,000 / 12 = 833 runs, while Starter still covers 2,500 (Pabbly Connect, n8n pricing). Short flows favour Pabbly, long flows favour n8n, and Pabbly's Unlimited plan at $79 a month takes the count away altogether.
Paying once
Pabbly sells lifetime plans: $349 once for 3,000 tasks a month, $799 for 10,000 and $1,298 for 20,000 (Pabbly Connect). Read the cards closely: the $349 card crosses out multi-step workflows, Human in Loop and the year of support that the two larger cards include. For example, the $799 plan equals 799 / 19 = 42 months of Standard billed monthly, or 799 / 14 = 57 months at the three-year rate. n8n's page lists monthly and annual billing only; its no-fee route is self-hosting, not a one-time payment (n8n pricing).
How far one flow can go
n8n puts code steps in JavaScript or Python, an AI Agent node and evaluations on every Cloud plan, with runs of up to 40 minutes on Pro against 5 on Starter (n8n pricing). Pabbly's Standard card includes iterators, filters, delays, scheduling and an email parser, while its JavaScript and Python module, AI Assistant, Human in Loop and MCP servers are ticked only on the Unlimited card (Pabbly Connect).
A drafted post that waits for a yes
The job: turn each new blog article into a LinkedIn caption that a person signs off, on Pabbly's Unlimited plan, where Human in Loop is included. A new Google Sheets row with the article link triggers the workflow, and an OpenAI action, one of Pabbly's listed integrations, drafts the caption. A Human in Loop step with the Request Approval event then emails the reviewer the caption and image link mapped from earlier steps, and the posting action runs only after approval (Human in Loop guide). Pabbly's guide names public social posts among the cases that need this check. The same posting step can also be added to Pabbly's MCP server, so Claude Desktop can call it as a tool (MCP guide).
Prices side by side, checked on 26 October 2026
From the Pabbly Connect pricing section and the n8n pricing page, per month. Pabbly's cards opened on the three-year tab when read, so switch to Monthly before comparing; n8n's yearly prices loaded in dollars or in euros depending on the visit, so both are given.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Three years | Allowance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pabbly Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | 100 tasks, two-step workflows |
| Pabbly Standard | $19 | $16 | $14 | 10,000 tasks |
| Pabbly Unlimited | $79 | $69 | $59 | No task limit |
| n8n Starter | $24 | $20 or 20€ | Not listed | 2,500 executions |
| n8n Pro | $60 | $50 or 50€ | Not listed | 10,000 executions |
| n8n Business | $960 | $800 or 667€ | Not listed | 40,000 executions, self-hosted |
The approval step in the job above is the feature to check before you buy. Pabbly's Standard card shows Human in Loop, MCP servers and the code module crossed out, and only the Unlimited card ticks them, so an AI draft that waits for a reviewer moves you from $19 to $79 a month on monthly billing (Pabbly Connect). For example, $79 minus $19 = $60 more every month for one review step. Pabbly collects its top-tier price on the very step a careful team adds first. My recommendation: test whether a draft written to a Google Sheet, plus a second workflow that posts only the rows a person marks approved, does the job on Standard.
Start on the free routes
Pabbly's Free plan needs no card and allows two-step workflows, enough to test one trigger and one action, and paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee (Pabbly Connect). n8n's Community Edition is free to self-host, and its Cloud trial gives 1,000 executions with no card (n8n pricing). Build your shortest flow and your longest flow on both, run a week of real data, and count tasks against executions before buying any term longer than a month.
Choose Pabbly Connect if your job is
- Many short integrations for one business or several clients, where triggers, filters and polling should cost nothing.
- A fixed automation budget, on the Unlimited plan or a one-time lifetime plan.
- Social posts or refunds that a person must approve by email before they go out, on the Unlimited plan.
Choose n8n if your job is
- Long flows with branches, code and an AI agent, where a whole run should count once.
- Running on your own servers with the free Community Edition.
- Debugging from an execution history that a developer can filter and replay.
FAQ
Does a Pabbly polling check use tasks?
No. Pabbly counts each check for new data as an operation, 288 a day for a five-minute check, and does not charge for operations (pricing FAQ).
Does n8n count a webhook request that fails?
Not if it fails before the workflow starts. Malformed or rejected requests and polls that return no data are left out of the quota (executions).
Does a Pabbly lifetime plan include support?
The $799 and $1,298 cards list one year of customer support; the $349 card shows it crossed out (Pabbly Connect). Price in what happens after year one before paying once.
