The short answer: if your Shopify store keeps dozens of campaign pages live and does not run split tests yet, GemPages is cheaper: Build publishes unlimited pages for $29 a month (GemPages pricing). If you want A/B tests and heatmaps inside the same app as the builder, PageFly includes both from its Optimize plan, $39 a month for 20 pages or sections, rising with a slot slider (PageFly pricing). Both checked on 26 October 2026. GemPages tests through GemX, a separate app with its own bill.

Work it out first:

  1. Count live pages, then price both. For example, 30 live pages with no testing: GemPages Build is $29, and PageFly's Builder slider stops at 15 slots, so 30 means Optimize set to 30 slots at $49 (PageFly pricing). Add testing and GemPages becomes $29 + $49 for GemX's Page Optimization plan at under $20,000 of monthly revenue, so $78 (GemX pricing), against PageFly's same $49.
  2. Check what your theme already does. If the theme renders product pages well and only lacks a few blocks, GemPages Build's 20 theme sections insert into it; PageFly counts a section against the same slots as a page. List the blocks you miss before counting pages.
  3. Decide how a page will be judged. Orders per page visitor, from Shopify's order data, is the measure; take four weeks of it for the landing page that sells most today, before building anything new.

The differences that decide it

Slots or no slots

GemPages charges by feature tier and lets every paid plan publish without a cap. PageFly charges by capacity: Builder runs from $24 for 5 slots to $34 for 15, Optimize from $39 for 20 to $94 for 75, and only Accelerate at $99 removes the count (PageFly pricing). A store that publishes a page per ad angle and rarely deletes old ones grows into PageFly's slider; a store with six evergreen pages never feels it.

Testing in the same app, or the next one

PageFly puts A/B testing, heatmaps, section performance and built-in analytics in the builder from Optimize up. GemPages moved testing into GemX, launched in September 2024, which tests Shopify pages against GemPages pages, or two GemPages pages, with targeting by device, visitor type, traffic source and market (GemX article). GemX prices by your store's monthly revenue band, and at up to $20,000 a month its plans are $49 and $99 (GemX pricing). Two apps also means two places to read results.

How AI enters the build

PageFly's FlyMate drafts pages and sections from a prompt on every plan, drawing on monthly AI credits: 10 on Free, 80 on Builder, 140 on Optimize, 400 on Accelerate (PageFly pricing). GemPages MCP is a connector for Claude or ChatGPT that researches content, turns finished articles into HTML and converts HTML, images or URLs into editable GemPages pages; it is in closed beta with a waitlist (MCP page).

Prices on 26 October 2026

GemPages, US dollars, monthly (pricing): Free $0 with one published page; Build $29; Optimize $59, adding 100 theme sections and headless landing pages; Enterprise $199. No time-limited trial: the free plan is the trial.

PageFly, US dollars (pricing): Free $0; Builder $24 to $34 and Optimize $39 to $94, both billed monthly through the slot slider; Accelerate $99 a month or $990 a year; Power $199 a month or $1,990 a year, charged through your Shopify bill. Enterprise tiers start at $299.

One AI step: PageFly builds from a brief in Claude

PageFly is listed as a connector in Claude's directory (AI page builder page). Connect one store, approve the scope in Shopify admin, and give Claude a brief: the product, the angle of the ad, the offer, the objection to answer. Claude drafts a full page from the brief with the store's real products and images, and PageFly states that nothing goes live until you say so and that no order data is read. Inside the app, FlyMate works the same way: it shows its plan for the page and builds section by section once you approve it.

The person who approves is checking three things the AI cannot know: whether each claim on the page is true of the product, whether the offer matches the ad that sends the traffic, and how the page reads on a phone. Approve the publish only after all three.

The free test

Build your next campaign page on both free plans, publish each at its own URL, and send alternate days of the same ad to each for two weeks. Shopify's orders per page visitor decides it, and neither app has charged anything.

The plan you pay for afterwards has one structural detail. PageFly sells its yearly price, pay for ten months and get twelve, on Accelerate and Power only (PageFly pricing), so the discount starts at $99 a month and the slot-priced plans most stores begin on are paid month by month at list price.

Choose GemPages if your job is

  • Keeping many campaign pages, advertorials and listicles live at once.
  • Adding sections to a theme you are happy with.
  • Turning HTML from a copywriter or an AI assistant into an editable Shopify page.

Choose PageFly if your job is

  • Testing page variants and reading heatmaps without a second app.
  • Drafting pages from a prompt on any plan, including Free.
  • Starting small, with a handful of pages, and paying for slots as you grow.

FAQ

Does GemPages have A/B testing built in?

No. Its help centre sends testing to GemX, a separate Shopify app from the same company (GemX article).

Which is cheaper for 100 live pages?

GemPages, at $29 a month on Build. PageFly's Optimize slider stops at 75 slots, so 100 pages needs Accelerate at $99 a month or $990 a year (PageFly pricing, GemPages pricing).

Do both work with my theme?

GemPages lists Shopify Theme 2.0 compatibility on its pricing page (pricing). PageFly says it works with any Shopify theme and more than 130 Shopify apps (AI page builder page).
