ZeroBounce vs NeverBounce: Written Terms or a Free Estimate

The short answer: if you do not yet know whether a list needs cleaning, start with NeverBounce's free analysis, which returns an estimated bounce rate; NeverBounce's own docs call an estimate under 2.0% typically safe to send and one over 8.0% always worth verifying (free analysis docs). If you already know it does, ZeroBounce publishes everything you need to price the job: 10,000 credits for $129, or $99 for a month of ONE, plus 100 free validations a month for business domains (ZeroBounce pricing, checked on 26 October 2026). NeverBounce's pricing page answered every automated request with a bot check on 26 October 2026, so its prices are not on this page; read them on its pricing page in a browser before you decide. Choose ZeroBounce if your job is cleaning lists under written terms you can model today; choose NeverBounce if your job is triaging many lists before paying, or adding a check to your own app through its API and widget.

Before any credits change hands:
- What the estimate means in addresses. For example, a 40,000-address list with a bounce estimate of 5.0 would bounce 40,000 x 0.05 = 2,000 addresses if sent as it is, and NeverBounce's docs place 5.0 in the 2.0 to 8.0 band where verification may be needed, depending on your sender. On ZeroBounce, 40,000 addresses need the 50,000 pack at $499 or a month of ONE at 50,000 credits for $379 (pricing page).
- The bounce report you already have. Your email platform shows the hard bounces of the last campaign to this list. Put that number next to the free estimate; if both are low, the clean can wait.
- The evidence you will need afterwards. Keep the SMTP bounce codes from the first send after cleaning. ZeroBounce's guarantee asks for them (the ZB Guarantee), and they are the fair way to compare a cleaned send with the one before it.

Where they differ
A free estimate, or a free sample
NeverBounce indexes and dedupes the whole list, analyses it in a few minutes and returns a bounce estimate from 0.0 to 100.0, in the dashboard or through the API with one extra parameter (free analysis docs). ZeroBounce has no estimate step; its free 100 validations a month answer address by address, which tells you more about those 100 and nothing about the rest (pricing page). For an agency with twenty client lists, the estimate is the faster triage.
What each tells you to block at the form
NeverBounce's single verification docs give unusually specific advice: at the point of entry, let valid, catch-all and unknown addresses through and block only disposable and invalid ones, set a client timeout of about 10 seconds, and treat timeouts as unknowns; the standard API must not run in the browser, where the widget belongs. ZeroBounce offers the real-time API, form integrations for HubSpot and Klaviyo and a JavaScript widget, one credit per check as in bulk (integrations docs, pricing page).
What is in writing
ZeroBounce's guarantee is public: below 99.6% accuracy it refunds 5% of the validation cost per point, if you mailed only the valid file within 72 hours, to an opt-in list of at least 1,000, and kept the SMTP codes. ZeroBounce also publishes a benchmark that names NeverBounce among nine tools; the page says ZeroBounce ran it itself. NeverBounce's own statements on accuracy could not be read today, so this page repeats neither vendor's figures about the other.
Prices
| Credits | ZeroBounce, one purchase | ZeroBounce ONE, per month | NeverBounce |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2,000 | $39 | Not offered | Not readable on 26 October 2026 |
| 10,000 | $129 | $99 | Not readable on 26 October 2026 |
| 100,000 | $649 | $449 | Not readable on 26 October 2026 |
| 1,000,000 | $3,199 | $2,499 | Not readable on 26 October 2026 |
ZeroBounce figures in USD, checked on 26 October 2026 on its pricing page. NeverBounce's pricing page returned a human-verification screen to automated reading that day, and its API docs say only that credits are bought in bulk from the dashboard or billed monthly on request (list verification docs).
An agent checks the sample
ZeroBounce's MCP server installs from npm and connects Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code to your account with an API key. Give the assistant 100 addresses drawn at random from the list and ask it to run validate_batch and count the results by status. Then a person puts that count next to NeverBounce's free estimate for the whole list. If the sample shows few invalid addresses and the estimate sits under 2.0, the decision is to send with ordinary care; if either points higher, the person, not the agent, approves spending on a full clean.
Free first, in two steps
The two free offers fit together. Run NeverBounce's free analysis on the full list for the estimate, then run 100 of the same addresses through ZeroBounce's free allowance for address-level results. Together they cost nothing and tell you whether to pay anyone.
Read the free analysis for what it is. It is the first step of a sale: drop the run_sample parameter from the same request and the job becomes a verification that counts toward your usage, and the bands that say when to make that switch are NeverBounce's own (list verification docs).
Choose ZeroBounce if
- You want prices and a guarantee you can read before sign-up.
- You want catch-alls scored, or warm-up and placement tests in ONE.
- Your team works with an MCP-capable assistant.
Choose NeverBounce if
- You triage many lists and want an estimate before paying for any.
- You are building verification into your own app and want official API wrappers.
- You have read its prices in a browser and they fit.
ZeroBounce is covered in the ZeroBounce entry and how to use ZeroBounce. NeverBounce has no entry on this site; its developer docs are the primary source used here.
FAQ
Why are NeverBounce's prices missing?
Its pricing page asked automated readers to press and hold to prove they were human on 26 October 2026, and no other NeverBounce page read that day states a price. This site does not take prices from third parties, so the gap stays until the page can be read.
Is the free analysis the same as verification?
No. It estimates the list's bounce rate; it does not tell you which addresses are bad. A full verification job counts toward your usage, per the list verification docs.
Does ZeroBounce charge for unknown results?
No. Unknown results and duplicates are free; every other result uses a credit, in bulk or through the real-time API (pricing page).
